Localized names for power moves and such

I remember in the arcades Guile's kick move was called "The Half Moon" by the players. I also remember playing Tekken my friends and I dubbed a combo "The pinata", Oh boy, I can still hear my buddy screaming "No, not the pinata"

So, do you have any stories dubbing some moves and attacks? Care to share some?

i thought this was going to be a thread about kof:max impact's RIDICULOUSLY HILARIOUS dubbing.

:(

anyway, my friends and i just have a bunch of stupid injoke names for moves. one friend of mine uses the heavenly crack fist for one of akuma's supers. we refer to the raging demon as 'click,' pronounced 'cleek.' we've also pretty much given every move in guilty gear our own name. things like 'coconuts' and 'take it in the ass,' based on what the engrish sounds like to us.

Only one really comes to mind. When I first played one of the Tekken games, I remembered a throw move used by Yoshimitsu because of how flashy it seemed at the time, and the name classmates gave it. They called it the "spinning move."

Haha, where I live (and with a bunch of people of my race, which is Hmong, btw) everyone refers to the Hadoken as the "uhdooget" (which is the somewhat like the pronunciation, just messed up due to old sound and stuff, I know).

And speaking of Guilty Gear, my little brother was saying Dragon Install and it sounded so much like "Dragonwing Storm." Now everytime someone pulls it off, I say that and we always get a laugh for some unknown reason. Other moves are "Bandit--chipolepa!," "Bucanic Viper," and May's death "Johnny da Fuckah!". But maybe, that is what May is saying...

Wait, and there's one more I can remember. Terry's Power Wave. In one of the games he's in, it sounded like he said "Who are we!" And yeah, I always say that for no apparent reason.

Meh, those aren't that great, because they're only phonetic, but yeah, that's all I can remember.

I know my friends and I renamed a lot of Guilty Gear moves because we don't know the actual names or we can't understand what they say. Millia has the most renames, probably. The move where she rides across the screen on her hair, we call the "hair car". Her dagger throw, we call the "hair spike". And all her other moves are named hair something, and it's kind of a running joke now. Most of the other moves, like overdrives or throws are just named what they look like: The Big Whale, Mini-Fausts, Butterflies, etc.
