Neon Genesis Evangelion: The Movie!
 

This is my first post and thread so may as well start off with a big bang! For those who do not knowyet, Weta Workshop (the ones who did the special effects for LOTR) are planning to do a live-action movie on Neon Genesis.
The film is on hold but it is Weta’s hope that it will enjoy getting to work on the film production of this amazing story in the near future.

I remember seeing details in one of the first volumes of Newtype. I also remember their release date being "2010"

If i remeber correctly ADV has just more than 1/2 of the funds to produce the movie...and when did they start saving for it...like 6 years ago? sooooooooo, if you factor in the fact that they only have 1/2 now, and its taken 6 years, and its going to COST more by the time they get there(inflation and all) i would say closer to 2012 before we see anything...

Bummer, I was at least expecting some good news or any updates about this movie.

I didn't realize it was so far off from actually being done. For some reason I was under the impression that they were beyond concept art to what the thing would actually look like, but I guess I was wrong.

I know some Eva fans that will be very happy about this; most of them don't want to see a 'US big-screen' version of their baby :annoyed:.

Gainax is even interesed in Evangelion? i know that their are still releasing more merchandising, but... i guess that its too late for a live action movie if you ask me.
