Why can't I play this flash file?

It plays fine if I load the link in a browser, but if I save the flash file to my HD it is a no-go. :/

Because you need some method of playing. You can either do the following:

1) Always play in a browser
2) Install macromedia flash
3) Install Media Player Classic

I have other flash files that play in WMP Classic. This one will not.

And I can't load it from my HD to a browser either. It *has* to be played from the site of origin.

Likely then it attempts to load another file (which is on the site somewhere) it can't find, which is why you get nothing.

Either check your cache or save the link below:

That means you don't have a compatible player to watch FLV files. Either use the latest beta version of KMPlayer or google up other programs that will play this format (possibly Media Player Classic or VideoLAN).

Hm...well I have MPC, and I don't want Yet Another Video Player on my computer, so is there perhaps a codec for it that would work with MPC?

try this program sure will be working

Okay chief, whatever you say...

FLV is supposedly new so you can either wait till your player supports it or try something for the time being.

I had the same problem as you did and didn't feel like installing another app to play a media file. I ended up using KMPlayer. Its very close to Media Player Class ic and can play almost anything, including FLV. Only problem is that it is still beta and you might catch a few of its early bugs.
