how to find a gravestone?
Hey. My friend recently died, and I know what cemetary she was buried in, but I don't know where her gravestone is located. I'm not about to search the whole graveyard because it is 100 acres ish. What do I do? And asking someone else (one of her friends or family) is out of the question, don't ask why.

Graveyards usually have a team of people responsible for site management. I'm pretty sure they also keep a record of whose was buried in each plot. If you can find anyone on site, or contact them in some way, they might be able to tell you. I doubt it's especially confidential, since the names are carved on the monuments.
It's probably worth a try. I don't know if there will always be someone available at the site, though. When you think about it, though, someone has to be responsible for the site, or it would be rather chaotic finding an appropriate place to inter the deceased. |
Call up various local cemetaries. They'll have a groundskeeper or maintainer of sorts and they will probably have the name archived along with its location. Or you could always try a bizarre method and google her name for an article mentioning where she was laid to rest. I don't peruse them often but the Obituaries make mention of such things I believe.

Just call up the cemetaries main office and ask. They have lists of everyone in the graveyard.
