The Omen

So, how many of you saw this movie?

Today I'm thinking about going to see it, but I'm not so sure. If it's a shitty movie, that'd be a waste of a movie ticket, and today is my birthday. Who wants to see a shitty movie on their birthday?

It IS a shitty movie, I definitely wouldn't go see this on my birthday, I bet there's probably something better.

Predictable story and ending, crappy characters and a downright CREEPY looking kid. It may have it's "scary" moments (which are few and far between), but in any case, avoid at all costs.

I really enjoyed myself at this movie actually. Don't get me wrong -- it is an absolute piece of shit. Predictable as hell, bad acting, the works. But, it is one of those movies that has just the right level of unintentional awful that it becomes absolutely hilarious.

The original wasn't exactly a masterpiece itself, so you don't get the feeling their ruining anything. If anything, I liked it better than original, if not for the same reasons. I'd say go, if you're into laughing at bad movies. If you actually want a frightening film, avoid it.

Its a very close remake of the original.

If you liked the original, you should like this; as long as you dont start getting nitpicky.

I liked it overall. Although, it could have been better.

I liked it, personally. A very faithful remake which could have been terrible without proper casting, but they did it well overall.

But I wouldn't see anything out right now when you could wait a bit longer and see Superman. Even if it is your birthday, we ARE speaking of Superman.

Vestin Jun 27, 2006 03:56 AM

Yeah, that's true, but I could also see Superman since the free tickets I got aren't for special engagements, and a new movie is usually a "special engagement," for a fucking month around here.

But yeah, it's a good thing you guys warned me, because I was heavily considering seeing it, too.

I believe The Omen is going to be a three part series, though. I've never seen the original(s), but I do believe it's going to follow in a time line where he's a child (in this movie), then a young adult, then an older male.

Fucking Star Wars, huh?
