Suggestions for a superhero costume for a party

Hey guys :)
So I just got invited to a upcoming superhero party by this girl that I really like am in love with.
Everybody has to dress up like superheroes, and I'm not sure what I should be. I need something simple and not so foolish looking...
Can you guys help me out?

Also, where can I get superhero costumes...? Any specific stores?

the best superhero of all from an old 90s cartoon.....MC Hammer!! You just need to make sure you have those magic talking shoes.

Are there any superheroes with a sword?
I was thinking of those men with black suits and a mask in Kill Bill...but is it too silly to wear it at a superheroes party?

This would probably be the easiest costume. It may not classify as superhero but superhero nerds would probably appreciate it.

I'd probably go the complete oposite route and find/make a difficult costume and head out as The Tick.

Somehow 'joke' superheroes seem like they'd be more fun.

You could try going for Kato's costume, it's more or less what those goons from Kill Bill are based on, and it's superhero (sidekick) related. Should be easy.

You could always go as Zorro. It's a bit cliché, but he is a superhero with a mask and sword.

Somehow, Muscular Beaver was the first superhero that came to mind

Personally I think anyone dressing up as a superhero would look incredibly ridiculous anyways so you should just go for a joke hero instead of a serious one.

But if in that case, Gambit would be awesome.

Just don't go as Robin. Ive never seen a decent Robin...

Anything but superman is okay.
I suggest... Spiderman or Cyclops :)

Good call.

V is quite do-able. My brother tried Tuxedo Mask out from Sailor Moon. I know it sounds kinda lame but my brother pimped out the ladies. Anyways, with the same black cape and hat combination, you could make a sweet V...

Dude. Go as Captain Planet. That'd be awesome.

Actually I would suggest going as Superman. Generally, the person dressed up as Superman at costume parties bleeds confidence, and that might be what you're looking for with this girl. If you're going to do it though, dress up as Clark Kent. Meaning, put on a nice suit and tie, and have the Superman shirt underneath so you can flash it when necessary. :) All the effect without those totally metrosexual tights.

Hmmmm.... I could dress as the new superman... Any suggestions on where to get the new superman logo/t-shirt?
I googled for superman returns and found these:

Right now, Clark Kent is my one of the suggestions I might use unless somebody else comes up another awesome superhero :)

Go as Daredevil or the Punisher. The Punisher is pretty easy to do.

Clearly you haven't taken a look at Jim Lee's illustrations in Batman Hush V1 & V2. :eyebrow:

Also going as V is your safest bet, I would say go as Nightwing but V is a quite simple get up. Also, just so you don't botch up the outfit, here is a better look at his threads... :)

Or just wear a black suit with a tie, and your a MIB.

Dress normally and carry a back pack, saying: "Don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry." You're Bruce Banner.

Dress as a preppy--you're Bruce Wayne.

Is there such a thing as Dark/Black/Evil Superman?
