physx and killer apps

hey i saw there was an old physx thread but it got killed cause of spammers. so i'm posting a new one. cause i got the physx card, and i really like it. but i have no idea what games are going to use it. i've heard that ut07 will use it. but thats pretty much all i know. maybe i should have got it when more killer apps came out...

this thread topic sucks

Yes, you should have got a physics card when it would have actually been useful. There are very few games right now that actually use this worthless piece of PCB. UT2K7 will have support for cards like this, however, there will probably be newer cards by then. Hopefully manufacturers will make then for PCI-E, instead of old PCI.

What did that thing cost you? $200? $300?

They aren't really at all the same, kinda like ISA to PCI. PCI-E is basically the new standard for addon cards, everything from sound cards to graphics cards to physics cards use it (graphics card use a special type of slot, however). But there's no real similarity between them in design, you can't use a PCI card in PCI-E or vice versa.

On the topic of physics cards though, Cellfactor demo was cool....although you can run it without a physics card....

Actually, it was closed because this Red9 dickhead created two accounts to talk to himself about it. :dopey_love:
