Battlefield 2 issues

I was playing BF2 a couple of days ago, and due to my Y-splitter being faulty, my main hard drive crashed, along with BF2 I was playing at the time. I fix the problem with the Y-splitter, and now I'm trying to play BF2 again. But when I startup a map, I have no mouse or keyboard output whatsoever. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, and applied the v1.13 patch 3 times already to no avail.

So I uninstall again, and go into regedit and start deleting all registry entries pertaining to BF2 thinking that would work. It didn't. Supposedly BF2 properly installed, I rebooted, applied the v1.13 patch again, but to my disbelieve, there's absolutely NOTHING in the BF2 folder (default path btw). I try to start the game through my programs, and I get a pop from Windows Security Center saying that BF2.exe was corrupt. I go to control panel to uninstall it, and the uninstall wizard says that the uninstall could not be completed. I go through and delete the registry keys again, but to no avail. I try to delete the EA Games folder, but windows says that it cannot delete and that the directory is not empty.

So, I tried to install it again, and the install wizard says it failed to install, and to please start from the beginning. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks.

Well, if you have properly uninstalled/installed BF2 and Windows is telling you that the executable file is corrupt, your harddisk is likely to go kaput.

Backup your important data, do a thorough system check and prepare to get a new drive if needed.

Yes, Rock is more than likely right on this one. The last time I had installations fail, my hard drive died shortly after. Do yourself a favor and backup your important stuff. You may wanna start shopping around.

Found the problem. I guess it was the registry keys I deleted before reinstalling. I just restored to before the problems started, fresh installed, and everything's good to go. Thanks for the help though.
