badminton racquet
Does anyone know the exact design of a badminton racquet's handle? I bought a 35 dollar racquet from SportsCheck 2 weeks ago and used it about 6 times (~2 hours per practice), and it snapped on me.
I took a look at the handle, and it seems like it's made of cheap wood where the top half of the wooden handle is solid core while the bottom half is hallow; this probably explains why it snapped... I'm planning on buying a better one, but I'm afraid it'll break on me again if it has the same design (I'm a noob at badminton, so I don't know if all the racquet handle is the same or not), please give me some advice, thanks. |
This site explains some basic information about the shape. Maybe you'll find it useful.

I don't know too much about badminton, but my friend is obsessed and I can't believe he went through all the trouble of going to Paragon [best sporting goods store in the world] in NYC and bought a $220 racquet for like $160... including tax.
I don't see the value, but he nearly orgasmed at the price. I'll get you his SN if you want, but he knows his shit. |
Thanks for the site Rydia, although it doesn't have the information I need on racquet handles, it does provide useful tips when buying a racquet.
Void, I guess your friend must be a pro at badminton, because I know there are a lot of people going crazy after a good racquet, especially if they can get it at a good price. Please give me your friend's MSN, I really like to learn more about the racquet before I buy another one. Thanks for your help! |
