Why is Microsoft cheap?

My headset clip snapped off when I was simply picking it off the floor so I could talk after a match in DDR Ultramix. Do they even repair/replace the headset when this happens?

Tube Mar 4, 2006 12:30 PM

Of course they don't repair it. Mine snapped in the exact same place, but I'm using the 360 headset now so I don't really give two thirds of a shit. I just used some superglue and duct tape to niggerrig it back to working condition.

Neogin Mar 4, 2006 12:38 PM

That's one of the older headsets, right?

Well, either way, I'd suggest just buying another one, but the one that plugs into the XBOX controller slot..thing. It's like a speaker.

I ordered an Xbox Live Starter Kit in July or August 2005 from Walmart.com. I wouldn't call it an "older" headset...

And Microsoft seems to have stopped supporting Xbox altogether. Every store and website I've looked at is sold out of headsets, and only have a few third-party wireless ones left...

Grundlefield Earth Mar 4, 2006 03:27 PM

Yes its an old Xbox headset. I went through like three of these taped all the time until they were dust.

Acro-nym Mar 4, 2006 03:40 PM

Microsoft is cheap so that, when things like this occur, the consumer will go out and buy it again because that consumer assumes it was their fault. Hence, Microsoft just made a profit. Twice. From the same person.

Ya the same thing keeps happening to my friend, and everytime one breaks he buys another one. Hes bought about 5 so far.

VagrantDragon Mar 4, 2006 04:00 PM

It was badly designed. My broke in the same place too. Just do what couple of people here suggested, super glue it or tape it back on. It's now worth the money to get another one that would just brake again.

watkinzez Mar 4, 2006 07:06 PM

Well actually, Microsoft is quite an expensive proposition for someone to acquire.

:P

Yillb Mar 4, 2006 08:13 PM

Mine broke there too- just a little tape worked fine.

Newbie1234 Mar 4, 2006 08:59 PM

I hope that doesn't happen with my 360 headset, ouch.

Megalith Mar 4, 2006 09:21 PM

Maybe y'all should learn how to take care of your things.

Mine is just like new.

davidv4099 Mar 5, 2006 01:36 AM

people are so brainwashed they will buy the same item 5 times before admitting that it was fucking crap in the first place. lol.

nintendo stuff doesnt break all the time because nintendo doesnt fucking suck.

You know what's great about this post? The subtlety.

Mine's never broken, but then again I hardly use it.

I was able to keep my headset in proper working condition, but almost all my friends at one point have broken theres.
