Can't link images in AIM

I've been having this problem ever since I rebooted my PC. When direct connecting with someone in AIM, I keep getting an error message when I drag any pictures for the recipient to see. It says "Cannot open file". I believe this might be a security issue, but I can't find out where to disable it. Please help me.

Gotta DirectConnect I thought

EDIT: Yay, I fail at reading. Update AIM? :\

Are you using AIM or a third party program? I know I can do the click and draq while using AOL's AIM client, but it's errored out on me for a long time now using Trillian.

It's standard AIM, no third party client (though if the problem persists I might have to look into that).

Most versions of AIM just suck. Just host it on rapidshare or something. It'll go faster there, too.

Um...link every single jpeg I find to rapidshare? I don't think so.

Does anyone at least know some good third party programs I could use in place of AIM?

I've used Trillian for a while now and none of the annoying little quirks seem to bother me anymore (I switched for some of the features like tabbed chat windows and invisibility). There's a free version as well as one you can purhase, but I'm not even sure of the differences, and it's easy enough to find a serial key online that it doesn't really matter.

Miranda is a pretty bare-bones client (and free) that can apparently get pretty good if you know how to stick on the right modules, though I never really got into that.
