Is Steam not working for others?
All during today I haven't been able to connect to Steam on either of my accounts.
I was just wondering if I'm the only one, or whether they're updating or something. Their main page doesn't say anything about updating and it just won't connect. After awhile it says that Steam is having issues connecting, and it'll continue to slam that message in my face if I retry. |
I was playing Steam games (HL2: EP1, CS:S) up until about two hours before you made that post last night. No issues for me.

Yep, it's working for me as well, lix.

Hmm. So it's not Steam.
Try going into cmd and doing ipconfig /release and then ipconfig /renew. Alternatively, tell Windows to repair the connection (this basically involves Windows automatically disabling the adaptor, enabling it, reconnecting, and flushing both the IP and DNS and re-establishing it). Check your firewall and make sure that Steam's allowed access, too. (You ARE using a firewall at ALL TIMES, right?) Outside of that, I'm not sure what to do without more info. =D |
I had the same issue at one time, none of my own accounts would log in but I could log in with my friends details. Reboot/resintall didn't work, but it fixed itself in a while so I think it could be a server side issue.

It's working now. I'm not too sure what happened there, but I know I had spyware.
Whatever, problem solved. |
