New Feature: Gamingforce Member Google Map
 

I have just added a feature that allows users to post their locations on a Google map!

To add your location, just click on the "[Your location]" link and then find your locaton on the map then click on it!

The server automatically updates the maps every hour (at XX:12) so it won't appear immediately.

Users who abuse the system will not be allowed to use it anymore.

To access the Member Google Map. On the top navigation bar, click on Quick Links and select "GF Member Google Map".

Awesome feature, and I'm the first (er, second) person to take advantage of it! I hail from Toronto. What's the image size limit though? Mine's rather large...

Looks like you're in a special usergroup (GFF Survivor Champion), for which bobo probably hasn't thought of enabling the Google Map privilege. Ask an admin and they'll fix it.

I added myself, one of the two people ('sup Xpander) in Texas so far (I know there are more people here from Texas though). I wonder how old the satellite images are though, since my house (and a lot of my area, for that matter) hasn't even been built yet, even though it's been here for almost a year and a half now.

The satellite images are about 2 years old. My university's new main hall (check my location on the map to find my university) was built around that time and the map shows a construction site.

Haha this is great. Much better than that other member map that was all blurry and spazed out if you kept swishing the mouse pointer on and off really fast.

I'm going to reinforce the support in Germany a bit. I like how you could be able to call me now at home. The chances that you'll call the right house in my street isn't even that small, something about 4%! Don't even try.

I get the same thing, so it looks like Retired Staff needs to be added to the list, too.

Strangely, I also don't have a link to "Who viewed my profile", so that might be usergroup related too.

Retired Staff's Google Map and profile viewing privileges have been fixed.

I like how I'm smushed in the Central Ontario area, where my marker overlaps with Infernal's and Freelance's markers.

Oops....I never realized you could zoom in to reveal actual roads!!! Due to this new relevation, I've readjusted my marker to reveal my true location. Yay.

This is pretty neat, much more interesting than the IP map. My house is pinpointed to the cm now.

I clicked on my city, and then when I zoomed down close enough, it just so happened I stabbed it somewhere near one of my friends house =0!
