6 buttons PC gamepad

Before you say, yes I've done a search and I kow there was a similiar topic to this one a 2 months ago.

What I'm searching for is a USB 6 button + 2 trigger (with rumble and wing design if possible) all digital gamepad for Megadrive and PSX emulation, that means no analog sticks since I'm not going to use them (for analog I have a 360 gamepad).
I've found some pads that while I'm still undecided may be what other forum members need. BTW I live in Europe but I'm posting USA links for the sake of simplicity.

This is what I've found so far:
Acteck AGJ-1100 Xtreme Shock: This is pretty much what I want but it's available only for South and Central America only :(
If anyone knows a pad similiar to this (or even this one) being sold at Europe or USA then please tell me! Here's a pic of the pad FYI:
http://acteck.com/images/C/agj-1100_c.jpg

Sega Saturn USB pad: The good old times... but not winged, no rumble, dead expensive (more expensive than a 360 pad!) and I still have no clue about what company creates them. Is it Sega itself or someone else?

Microsoft SideWinder: My 4 buttons pad was good so I assume this one is too, good luck find it new... and no rumble.

Genius MaxFire Pandora: Not winged, no rumble. You can store the wire inside the pad itself! Amazing, but meant for notepad gaming i.e. tiny as hell.

Saitek P220: Seems nice but no rumble and other Saitek D-pad I've tested seemd... not that great. Plus the 2 last buttons are smaller for no good reason, far from great for Megadrive emulation.

Do you know any others? If so tell me and where can I buy it. Thank in advance.

The Saturn pad is made by Sega themselves I believe.

Try the Genius Maxfire g-09D. It has 2 shoulder buttons and 2 shoulder triggers, a 2x3 button layout, wings, rumble. It also has an analouge but it doesnt get in the way at all. However, its not USB.

Yeah I knew about that one but since it isn't USB it's out of the run. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

We've broken many game pads here.

I remember we had a Sidewinder (not the one you have listed there) and the direction pad fell off it. No wonder it was on the cheap. Just be careful! Those direction pads seem alright. Have you looked into those adaptors where you can use your video games console control pads? The quality of these pads are usually good, except for Sony...

I don't really have a recommendation for a controller that might be suitable for you but I have used the services of

http://www.lik-sang.com/europe.php

in the past and they ship fast and reliable to Europe. They have a wide selection of game related stuff and a reasonable amount of gamepads but most of them seem to be out of stock atm. Check it out.

I had a 4 button Sidewinder and it was alright, maybe yours was defective? Anyway, no console pad meets the requirements my requirement and I don't really feel like using a adapter anyway.

They used to have a PC section but it seems to be gone now, playasia.com still has one but no good pads except Saturn one's.

Thanks for the replies anyway, anyone else knows good pads?

Just a good ol's PS2-USB converter and a Logitech Dual Shock Wireless works for me.

Yeah, that's just great for some good old Megadrive emulation

Um, you do realize they have identical Saturn controllers for PC, right? Look.

Or you could just get yourself a PS2 -> PC adapter, and a Saturn controller for PS2 (which lik-sang and play-asia also have.) That way you can use PS2 controllers along with Saturn PS2 ones on your PC.

I don't want to be rude but do you guys even read what I write?

1. I've already listed the Sega Saturn USB pad, so I know about it.

2. I don't have a PS2

3. All I want is a plain USB pad for Megadrive emulation, not some weird PS2 to Saturn to USB to whatever adapter.

Anyway thanks for your awnser.

Elixir Jun 5, 2006 04:36 AM

Sure, you have now that you've edited your original post. Why would you need a PS2 if you get a PS2 to PC adapter? All you need is a PS2 dualshock, and/or a Saturn (for PS2) controller, and you can use them both on the PC. You could always just buy a Saturn controller for PC, but like you said, you can't afford it.

Seriously, the cheapest way of doing this would be by picking up an original Saturn controller (for Saturn) which are dirt cheap, and getting yourself an adapter. It automatically detects the USB device and then you're on your way.

I've edited my post 3 days ago to add the line saying: "Do you know any others? If so tell me and where can I buy it. Thank in advance."

All I need is a USB 6 buttons pad, I don't need anything else, for that I'll use my 360 pad. The problem is that there are only a few 6 button pads and the only I would like to own is available only for South America.
If anyone know a pad similar to Acteck AGJ-1100 Xtreme Shock being sold at Europe or even USA then pretty please tell me.

Here's how the pad look like:

EDIT: I've edited the first post to include this pad picture.

I'd suggest a Gamecube pad with an adapter from Liksang. Worked for me for years, GTA and all...

devilmaycry Jun 5, 2006 11:12 AM

T_T

DUDE!!!!
What part of 6 buttons gamepad for Megadrive emulation have you missed?

The Microsoft pad I had was poorly made. It had at least 6 buttons. The direction pad was like a plate over a baton. It was never going to last unless the vital parts were made out of metal.

Do you have something about USB to gameport adapters? I mean, your request here is so narrow and there is like one that exactly fits what you want and you are rejecting anything that could pass for what you need.

ST-P220. I don't know about shoulder buttons but this would be my second recommendation if you're not going for a Saturn controller. I don't recommend this pad for fighters, though.

You are probably talking about this one then:

It was a badly done pad, not recomended (but very good looking :D).

If my request was simple I wouldn't disturb you all with this, would I? I would solve it myself.

I'm sorry but if you're just going to reject every controller that's suggested without giving them a go, I feel (along with others, I'm sure) that I'm wasting my time suggesting them in the first place.

devilmaycry Jun 6, 2006 03:57 AM

Maybe?.... I think there might not be any controller (asides the unavailable Acteck :() fit for the job. I've asked in other places and they didn't know as well. Maybe Genius will release one in the future?

No it's not that one. I remember it had some rotating mechanism in the middle. It's probably one of just many crap Microsoft pads.
