BitComet takes all bandwidth
I'm not sure if this suppose to happen...
But when I open Bitcomet and start downloading torrents...everything else runs slow...my AIM would sign on and off...web pages take forever to load. Is that suppose to happen or is something wrong with my connections? By the way I am running a cable modem. (I heard something about maybe opening ports on a google search I done before but I didn't understand it very well) |
You could always try using the bandwidth limiting options in BitComet, or you can just switch to uTorrent, which is much better:

The problem is most likely while you're downloading, you're also uploading (hence the concept of torrents). Using up all your upstream makes it hard for your computer to send out data to communicate with web pages and AIM and the like.
Since you're on a cable modem, I'm guessing your upload's capping out at about 40-45k/sec. Try limiting it to 25-30k/sec and see if that solves your problem. |
Thanx guys...you both were right about the bandwidth limiting...I set for upload speed to be 20 and download to 30...I guess thats good enough and everything is running fine ^_^...YEY...thanx Kaleb and Taco
