If it were me I think I have apologised then stay silent. It would have been my character to not have patted him in the first place though. I'm surprised everyone must have just looked on, the bus driver should have just thrown him off the bus. Wonder if they would meet again? I can't wait to go to Hong Kong!

I don't feel being under pressure is any way to act like that though. The student tried to be logical with him but with these types there's not a chance in hell.

i actually would've done almost the same thing. i know that when people get upset and yell, yelling back is one of the worst ways to end the argument. i had to deal with a very irate customer in the busy halloween season (keep in mind it was near the end of a 15 hour shift with no break and several constant lines of customers who waited till the last minute to buy a costume) and being quiet made her a bit more mad.... then just plain shut her up.

"Chinese swear words" or not, I simply can't imagine anyone over 12 years old actually using that insult in earnest.

At the same time the boy protested rather feebly. He shouldn't have bothered.

First off, why would he pat his shoulder? Besides that fault in the boy, the older guy really shouldn't have blown up like that. If I were sitting across the isle, that would've been really annoying.

He probably was being a loud-ass fucker with too much PRESSURE. So the boy asked him to tone down his PRESSURE.

I rarely speak with anyone around me if I take public transportation because people can indeed be rude. I haven't experienced anything like that before, but I'd try not to say anything in general.

I'm pretty sure there are people driving who are mentally unstable as well.
