The FFXI: ToAU OST is done downloading, but...
The folder only contains a CUE file and a TTA file and neither of them work on Winamp...help?
|
TTA appears to have something to do with FLAC. Anyone know if I can convert it?

well...i tried puttin the tta file in the tau producer and nuthin happened...wudnt compress or anything...help lol

You're probably supposed to use the cue as . . . y'know . . . a cue? Try making a cd with it.
|
but it doesnt let me put the cue file anywhere in the program. only tta files can be put in so thats why im lost :/ or maybe im just really new at this and its really easy and im too retarded to see it -_- lol

So what do you want. Do you want to keep the lossless file, or do you want to convert it to MP3? If you want lossless, download and install the codec pack available on the TTA site and any software player you should be able to run it (hopefully). And if you prefer MP3 (or some other lossy format), you could either mount the CUE sheet (if you know how to do that) and then rip the CD into desired format and quality, or you could wait for #gamemp3s to release it (at the beginning on next month I reckon).

If you are totally clueless about cuesheets, just get Nero and open the sheet with that. There ya go. |
How do I just convert this to WAV or FLAC? I can't mount the TTA file as an image using the CUE file, and Tau Producer didn't do shit for me.

foobar should solve your problems easily with its flexible converter; also note that you should rename the files/folders in case your PC's language isn't set to Japanese, since the characters wouldn't show up.
You'll need a CUE splitter program, too, such as CUE Splitter. If you do manage to convert the files, you should change the extension and/or filename in the cue file to the same as the audio track, as well, by opening it up in Notepad -- make sure you don't change the timing of the tracks, however. |
Sounds like too much work; I think I'll pass and find another rip. Why can't they just make an image and zip it or something? Making me download some obscure codec...shit...

But yeah, I'm on your side here. I don't know why they had to make it in TTA format except maybe because they're insecure little kids trying to impress their peers by using obscure formats. I would have used FLAC, myself. |
