All Hail President Reggie!

Quote:

Former exec. VP Reggie Fils-Aime has always been at the forefront of Nintendo of America, seen as a “commander” of the Revolution (or Reggie-lution) along with Iwata as its leader. The man who is looking to make the Wii a major success across the United States has just been promoted to President and COO (Chief Operating Officer) of Nintendo of America. The current President has been promoted to Chairman and a new exec. VP has been selected.

He's now one step closer to being "Supreme Ruler of Mankind." Congrats Reggie!

Damn you beat me to it!

I LESS THAN 3 REGGIE!!!!!!

HostileCreation May 25, 2006 09:45 PM

Word on the street is that Reggie won't utilize the secret service, he will personally kick the asses and take the names of all would-be assassins.

Free.User May 25, 2006 09:54 PM

But in the E3 press this year, he said he would let Iwata take all the names...

Wall Feces May 25, 2006 10:10 PM

Fucking awesome. Prepare to kiss your ass goodbye, humanity!

NES Oldskooler May 25, 2006 10:26 PM

So is he still responsible for doing what he does now or what?

neothe0ne May 25, 2006 10:31 PM

Well, he's still going to make speeches, I'm sure.

Final Fantasy Phoneteen May 25, 2006 10:32 PM

EDIT: Shit, beaten to it.

Part of me really does wonder if he'll still do the press conferences and stuff.

Grubdog May 25, 2006 10:55 PM

Of course! Iwata does and he's President.

Forsakenzoul May 25, 2006 11:14 PM

yeah reggie still makes the speeches and he still in charge of the marketing now with UBER power!! :) Sweet deal IMO.

J-Man May 25, 2006 11:31 PM

They wouldn't let the only person in the world that looks that much like Donkey Kong not do Nintendo speeches.

Chairman Kaga May 26, 2006 01:29 AM

So Reggie got promoted for talking big?

Okay.

chaofan May 26, 2006 09:36 AM

Well, he does seem to fit into the term "Nintendo-ness". He also seems to strongly agree with Nintendo's path and is able to do it while applying actual business tactics that work. Was it me or was he in NOA when their "disruption" method started (e3 2004)?

In other words, I think he'll make a good president. Ever since he was introduced he's been the phsyical manifestation of Nintendo's present mantra: Head strong in ideas with ruthless market penetration. Elegance and Beauty, really. The Japanese Way.

Good on him. Let's see him apply some ruthless business tactics to get Nintendo out of the deep end.

Lukage May 27, 2006 03:36 AM

Reggie was credited for the "Disruptive Marketing" or whatever, but things won't change that much aside from his input not so much being a strong influence, but it becoming the truth.
