Mario DDR

Does anyone else actually play this?

Buying it: I knew one thing, which was that all the songs would be Nintendo-ish. Its nice and all, but I wish it had a few random Japanese Techno songs in it too. :(

I was interested in this game for the holiday break but everywhere I went in the City was sold out. :annoyed:
Even today you can't get your hands on it, there are some ridiculous prices out there for this game ranging from $80-$170.

It's a rare game these days as long name above me said. I wasn't really that interested in it to begin with since I none of it would be challenging to me anyway. I'M TOO GOOD FOR THE GAME.

Nintendo's beginning to restock retailers with the game.

There's just been a low number of them available.

I'm hoping they sell more pads. Gamecube dance pads really aren't that common (I NEED TO PLAY STREET FIGHTER ON IT!)

nuttyturnip Mar 5, 2006 05:45 PM

This week, NOA had some available for order directly from them, and from what I've heard retailers should start getting a steady supply at the end of the month. Me, I bought my copy when it came out last October, but I've seen two copies more recently in stores (both of which I sold for a healthy profit on ebay).

Rawkus Mar 5, 2006 06:52 PM

I've owned it four times now.. and never got a chance to play it since I didn't open any of them. :P But yeah, you could say that I enjoy the game since I'm enjoying the nice little profit I've made off of it.

Kuhazan Mar 8, 2006 03:41 AM

You mean off stupid people buying it on Ebay right? haha

Rawkus Mar 8, 2006 03:04 PM

Of course. I honestly thought the average going price would've dropped by now, but it hasn't. I got $150 each for all four -- two sold in December and two in late February. I'd love to luck up on a few more.. :D

My brother got this game for christmas, and he was addicted...I'd have to say that I only got a few chances to play, but I think it's just as addicting as any other DDR games out there, just with a different storyline...(the music is good too)

Personally, I prefer it to the mario one to the other DDR games for the music

Chaotic Mar 8, 2006 08:27 PM

Because everyone knows Mario music. Add a techno remix, and boom, you have a hit.

Slash Mar 18, 2006 03:02 PM

Anyone know where the simfiles for this game are?

Enigma Apr 22, 2006 11:50 PM

It's actually a pretty good game, although yes, most all the songs are nintendo-ish.You'll find yourself danceing to the main theme song of Mario. Then again there are a few songs that have a good beat to them like Always Smiling which is one of my favorites. But anyway, it's your choice really if you all want to buy it, I just got mine a month ago and pretty much tore the game to shreds because it was too easy. So to all of you who are fans of the previous DDR games, you may want to hold your money back on this one, as it might not step up as a challenge.

Watashi_Baka_Da Apr 23, 2006 04:15 PM

DDR music is probably one of the few reasons why I still play. I am horrible at ddr I can only play on light and I am still not very good at that.

I love mario to death and I almost purchased the ddr, but I love the techno tuff on reg. ddr. It just isn't worth the money of the time to me.

xen0phobia Apr 23, 2006 06:16 PM

I bought it but was disappointed. It's waaaay to easy, plain and simple. Hardest song is barely a 7 footer. I also don't like how they forced x1. That was stupid, but i guess when the games already so easy they had to make it harder somehow.

Lukage Apr 26, 2006 11:51 AM

For someone like myself who has little or no experience playing DDR, its a great starter game.

The pad that comes with it doesn't have X and Y. :(
GameStop does have a GC/PS2 pad with X and Y, so that's good.

(I gotta play Street Fighter on the pad)

Chaotic Apr 26, 2006 07:30 PM

I've tried playing Rival School on the dance pad. THAT was hard.
