Deleted Bookmarks

Ok, so this morning when I was scanning for any kind of spyware and or viruses on my computer, my AVG found that there was a spyware of some kind in one my folders that happened to be in my Firefox folder.

So, I went in and deleted that folder which had the spyware on it. The problem is this: That folder was my main Firefox profile and I deleted it foolishly because I was tired and all of my bookmarks and settings within that profile were now gone.

I have been trying and trying to get back what I deleted from the Recycle Bin such as undelete programs, etc.

Does anyone know of a way to recover a lost folder that has subfolders in it that has been deleted from the Recycle Bin?

Please help. :(

You can try a program like Stellar Phoenix or another recovery program. This doesn't guarantee you recovery (the less you do on the drive the file was deleted on the better the chances), but it's worth looking into. I'll be posting it in the other requests forum shortly.

Thanks so much for the speedy reply Sir VG, I will try out that program you mentioned.

You Deleted the entire FOLDER? Why, pray tell, would you do that?

Essentially, you nuked your bookmarks list AND the backup list. Thanks to the magic of file systems, if you've used your computer at all since doing so, you're almost guaranteed to have them be absolutely unrecoverable.

I know, I know.

It was early in the morning and I was in a hurry to get to class, so I deleted the entire folder out of haste. I should have gone in and deleted just the specific folder that had the spyware in it.

Looks like I'm going to have to start making new bookmarks it seems :ashamed:

I know you are looking for a solution to the problem and not a lecture, but why not just let the spyware program handle the deletion for you? They take care of that so you don't go and delete anything but what is already a problem.
