Replacing explorer.exe /w xplorer2

I'm trying to get explorer.exe to not start up(not stop other applications from opening it). Is there anyway to do this other than
Run: Taskmgr>Kill>explorer.exe?

you can't use WinXP without explorer.exe startup,explorer.exe main exe files must to boot WinXP

Yes you can. Explorer is simply a shell; it can be replaced. Replacing it as the default file manager, however, is something that I don't see as possible. (I've never been able to.)
