Requesting a "preview your journal entry" feature.

As most of journal lurkers know, I'm quite an avid journal user. I thought it would be a handy feature for the admins or Bobo to implement a "preview your chocojournal entry" feature, much like how you'd preview your posts on the forum. Furthermore, would it be possible to have more advanced features like a GUI where we can select icons for bolding, italiziing, and the like, again, quite akin to the advanced posting features?

Thank you for your attention.

Sounds like it would be a great addition. I would rather enjoy the WYSIWYG editor.

I wouldn't mind having these things either, especially the preview thing. That would really help when making long entries, or ones with pictures in it.

I usually have to rely on the Preview Post feature of the testing forum, but I don't make the thread, this is how I preview my big ass journal entries. Of course having the feature implemented in the actual journal system would eliminate this hassle.

I used to do that too, 'till I found it easier just to edit the last gurnal entry by adding in the new content, then look for a few seconds to make sure nothing's broken (like GLASS) and put it back to normal. But yes, I fully support a preview entry option thingy!

Me too. I've also found myself walking to the Testing forum to make certain entries. It's a hassle, and I would be very happy if someone gave us a preview option:o

Since I doubt that will happen any time soon, there are two ways I can think of a workaround. One is to make a private entry. That way, it won't show up on the front page except on your buddies and at you can work on fixing it quickly. The other is to go way back into your journal, maybe to the first entry, and post what you want in a comment. Then, after you post the new entry, go back and delete the comment. Since the front page only links you to the most recent commented journals and not the most recent commented entries, I doubt anyone will see it. Or testing.

If this does ever get implimented (which it should), I'd like to see it expanded to also include a "preview comment" button. If for no other reason that I screw up with code a lot and am too lazy to check it elsewhere before I post it.

I've implemented this, feel free to test it out.
