Best way to spend ~$200

As title says.
• Ipod?
• New video card to play Oblivion?
• PSP
• .....

Danrod May 18, 2006 09:34 PM

I would have to say Ipod. You can't go wrong with having 40gigs of Music in your pocket. ;D

Wait for the Wii.

AlphaDeus May 18, 2006 10:27 PM

Heh, funny you should mention.. I recently spent 200 bucks on a new graphics card to play oblivion :P Best 200 bucks I ever spent.

A bunch of CDs or DVDs. Maybe some old games as well. My Saturn needs a collection.

Eleo May 18, 2006 11:01 PM

Buy clothing. You can get about three pairs of Air Force Ones with 200bux.

Spook May 18, 2006 11:38 PM

PSP? :shakes head: -- DS Lite and a few games (when it's readily available in a few weeks).

PSP for the lose, without a doubt.

Dee May 19, 2006 12:51 AM

Ipod is my go. Or I would suggest blank DVDs. You can never have too many blank DVDs.

I'd buy something worthwhile over the long term, something that won't likely sit around once the fascination wears off.

An iPod is a good bet. New clothes are also good. Male or female, sometimes it's nice to get new stuff to wear.

Maybe a really nice set of shoes. Some heavy shitkickers like Doc Martens or Lugz are always useful. I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have a set of Lugz and Vans to go around in. Nothing else feels right anymore.

Or you could use it to get some food and shit, then have a really kickass weekend with some friends. That's good too.

I would buy a new purse.

And if you don't have an iPod yet, then get one, especially if you like music. Although you'll probably be only to afford the Nano.

Assorted software, or a 5 PSP Games before taxes:ninja:

Krelian May 19, 2006 11:10 AM

- Nintendo Wii
- Hefty hard drive
- PSP
- Numerous CDs
- A few months' supply of DELICIOUS CHOCOLATE

Arienas May 19, 2006 11:57 AM

If it were my money, I'd go out and get some sushi with friends. Maybe save it up for college.

Out of the list, either an iPod, or put down a reserve on a Wii.

Is 'spend' the right more or was it meant to be more inclusive, like 'use'? Cause I'll definitely be the boring one and suggest putting it in the bank. Later, in a couple years, you'll be happier. Not now, of course, when the money's out of your hands and you can buy nothing. Now you'll be miserable. But that's okay. Happiness later. PLEASURE DELAYER.

Summonmaster May 19, 2006 12:43 PM

Jump on the bandwagon and snag yourself an Ipod (aka. drugs for your ears).

Lord Jaroh May 19, 2006 12:59 PM

You mentioned Oblivion and you even have to think about how to spend the money? How very odd. Definately go with the new video card, which will be useful right away. iPod...not worth it. You can get a decent mp3 player for under $100, and the PSP...well, I can't judge because I haven't looked into it enough, but I figure making all of your Computer Games look prettier would be a great purchase.

Miles May 19, 2006 01:55 PM

You could buy a ton of socks with that kind of money.

Yes~ I've been wearing my Docs {combat boots} since 2001. The soles are still in pretty good shape too. I like how a pair of shoes has lasted me as long as my PS2 has lasted.

Of course, an Ipod would be an excellent purchase as well. I have truly enjoyed mine for the past year+.

A couple of months' worth of groceries would be an enjoyable way to spend the money too. But you'd get less enjoyment out of eating than you would a long last electronic device, over the long run.

RABicle May 19, 2006 02:01 PM

Beer.

Newbie1234 May 19, 2006 02:21 PM

If money's tight I'd recommend a DS over a PSP (I own both). Games seem to be cheaper and are arguably better, UMD movies are on the verge of death, and no crazy load times. I just saw the Blue DS with the New Super Mario going for $160 CDN at Best Buy.

David Deluxe May 19, 2006 02:26 PM

You could beautify the life of one of those poor children for eleven months.

Buy beer. :tpg:

Oblivion is really fun, but only for about a week. It is highly overrated so Id recommend against the videocard if Oblivion is the only reason for the upgrade.

YeOldeButchere May 19, 2006 04:23 PM

Booze! Buy some booze, goddamit! $200 canadian is enough for 9 750ml bottles of Canadian Club (which, ironically enough, costs less per ml at my local liquor store when bought in smaller quantities. Go figure). And with the $2 left, you can probably buy some aspirins or something for the next morning.
