Those graphics in the E3 trailer are bullshot, I'm sure.

MysteryRidah May 15, 2006 01:28 AM

Tony hawk 3 was the last great tony hawk game. Serious, part 4 is so freakin hard and the underground mess, ugh.

Zip May 15, 2006 01:59 AM

4 is not hard, underground sucks ass tho. They could have just named it Tony Hawk: Jackass. Ruined a awesome series. This one looks good, looks like they went back to pure skating and not idiotic side shows.

Zip May 15, 2006 03:11 PM

it came out wrong, what i ment was that thps4 wasnt hard as in a hard game itself, it has stupid goals that didnt fit the levels they were in. Just wanted to clarify that.THPS2 still owns all though =).

Krelian May 15, 2006 03:23 PM

I didn't really enjoy 4 that much, but 3 and the first Underground were really fun. None of this "American Wasteland" bullshit for me.

Is "Project 8" the final name, or...?

MysteryRidah May 15, 2006 04:37 PM

Lets hope things work out in tony hawk on 360, you know back to normal.

elwe May 15, 2006 04:52 PM

Hopefully, it won't have "Zrr! Let's defy authority, act uber-cool, play pranks on zhe guards, and win big!" feel to it, since that was what really bothered me in Underground. Which is a pity, since Underground was pretty fun.

The graphics look pretty nice though!

Sorry, this sentence kind of confuses me. What exactly do you mean by "ps3<(exclusive)"?

Also, i thought the serise lost itself with 3. I didn't like the whole idea of finding stats, and i just thought the environments left something to be desired. To this day i still hold 2 in the highest regards. I'm hoping this game takes that place.

ps3<(exclusive) means that its exclusive to the ps3 platform, like how Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter was exclusive to the xbox360.

JasonTerminator May 16, 2006 12:36 AM

Wow, that copy of GRAW for the PC I saw the other day must be in my head.

Grundlefield Earth May 16, 2006 01:19 AM

Well the real version of it is on 360.

Anyway, I still don't understand how Tony Hawk project 8 is exclusive to ps3 when its coming out to the other platforms.

Krelian May 16, 2006 04:15 AM

Maybe it's in the same way that the 360 version of American Wasteland (with the toned-up visuals and all) was only on the 360.

*random speculation*

Hence my confusion.

XtremeDJW May 16, 2006 02:50 PM

What are the chances of BMX being in this one? I like how, from that trailer, the game looked a bit more realistic in the way to tricks. I'm honestly getting tired of 1260 backflip barrel rolls.

maxmontezuma May 16, 2006 04:10 PM

I like every Tony Hawk game because they are all fun ^^

but my favorite is still THPS2 :)

edit:

but THUG2 is great, too :P

never played THUG1 but all other games in the TH series... THAW rocked first, but after playing it several hours it was boring like hell :P but nice tricks though

qbeman May 16, 2006 04:35 PM

Hmm I have that with all TH games. At first they catch my interest but just a little while later they bore me to a whole new level of boredom. o.O

I'm sure a few of my friends will buy Project 8 and with that I'm sure I'll play it at some point but I still think Tony Hawk games are going down the drain steadilly (and not to slowly either).

Infernal Monkey May 16, 2006 06:13 PM

Just watched the trailer. It's cool how the characters still had the same half asleep look permanently crushed into their face as they pulled off those tricks. "OH MAN I'M BORED, AND TIRED, BUT I GOTTA SCORE 2000 POINTS IN THIRTY SECONDS OR BIG BOSS WILL KILL MY GIRLFRIEND"

Zip May 16, 2006 06:20 PM

lol 2000 points.
Question for you thps players, what was your record :S? I used to bust millions. When i played thps2 i used to play 3-4 hours each day for atleast a year, i got to a stage where every run was above a million, just by trying to do diffrent lines.
If i remember correctly my record in thsp2 was only 2-3 million in one combo.

solid_snake May 19, 2006 12:26 AM

hey, the trailer was just a PRE-DEFINED version of the game, activision'll sort out all the problems there were in other Tony Hawk titles.
