Burning image of an OS
Me again, with another question.
Here's the deal, I grabbed a copy of Windows Media Center so that I could fully integrate my Xbox 360 with my PC (as far as media goes.) It's an ISO file, so I burned it onto a CD, in order to boot from CD and do a clean install. Here's the deal: it won't boot. I double checked that CD was first, secondary slave is the drive, but no go. In fact, if I try to run the CD, the only option I get is to open the ISO in winrar, no bootup or setup window or anything. What do I do from here? |
When you burned it, did you just select a data disc and drop the ISO file onto it? Sounds like it. What you're looking to do when you burn the disc is {in Nero for example} "disc image", not "data disc".

You know, it's funny, I tried that last night (albeit by accident.) I was in Nero, and I had picked data CD, but on like...the 3rd time I tried, experimenting with different things, it automatically switched to the burn image screen. Except, when it finished, my PC wouldn't read the CD. Worked this time though, I burned at 2x :P My computer's really bad, unfortunately, most of the time I can't burn at 8x (although I used to) and I can't burn Disc-at-once.
Anyways, thanks russ. It looks like it's gonna work. EDIT: Just wanted to follow up and say thanks again, I've got MCE up and running. Sweet can. |
