Hellboy/BPRD
This awesome series deserves more attention. And to do so I nominate it for SotM for June. Until then, take it upon yourself to discover Mike Mignola's genius.

Indeed! I second for this motion. Tired of superheroes? Then read Hellboy and BPRD. Whiel the stories are heavily influenced by folklore and the supernatural, the characters's personalities were created very uniquely, that as you progress through the series it would seem that every character was made to have their own purpose. Like each one of them is a piece of a big puzzle. It's pretty funny with a weird/creepy feel. I rate it 5/5

I'm a big HELLBOY fan but never read any BPRDs issues. Is the writing and art pretty much the same as the HELBOY series?
|
Most of the writing is by Mignola, the art isnt. But it fits perfectly with the writing. Some people don't read it cause they don't like the art. Well, it's their loss.

Reading BPRD is essential if you're following Hellboy. The two will merge near the end of an arc.

Cool. Thanks guys!

I started reading BPRD with the last mini-series "The Black Flame". The second issue of the current mini "The Universal Machine" just came out. I have six Hellboy TPBs and both two issue Hellboy stories that came out within the past year. Mike Mignola and his team are very talented.
