How to burn ISO images?
 

I want to burn just a couple of games. Please tell me if this is how I do it. So, I go to a torrent site and download the iso file of the game I want, and then once it's finished downloading I burn it to a (CD or DVD?) using Alcohol 120%. Am I missing anything? (Note: PSX and PS2 games are the only two I want to "create" so maybe that means something crucial)

Edit: Also, does it matter if I download an NTSC iso...will it work on my PAL PS2?

You can use Nero or DVDDecrypter as well, I've had success with both.

NTSC games will work on your PAL PS2 (provided you've chipped it/you're using swap magic) but might not output properly on your TV. The game could come out in black and white for example, but if your TV has been bought within the last 5 or so years it should be okay, maybe even last 10 years. Other than me explaining how it all works it'd probably be best if you just burnt a game and checked.

open nero>>close disk burning wizard>>select file>>open>>choose ISO from file types>>find ur ISO>>open it>> click burn>>done

Thanks for both of your help, but I still have a couple of questions:
1) Do I burn the iso's to CD(s) or DVD(s)?
2) Is there no way to convert the NTSC iso file to a PAL iso file? I'm asking this because, to save a lot of hassle, I want to download Klonoa: Door to Phantomile PAL but can't find it anywhere.

You don't need to convert NTSC to PAL as long as your TV set is fairly modern and you're using a RGB Scart cable.

Do you know a site where I could play that? Also...what exactly does it do?

Just make sure you don't burn with the fastest speed possible. That was one of the n00b mistakes I made when I first started download game ISOs. You'll get skippy music/voices/FMV and it's quite annoying.

Well, judging from your profile you're from Australia, in which case you should have RGB Scart cabling for your console and TV:

These are usually sold in the same place where you get consoles and videogames from. And they're actually quite cheap, too.

As long as you're using such a cable, your console is chipped and the TV supports it (99% of PAL sets can display NTSC just fine), you're better off than converting the actual game from NTSC to PAL because it would run slower or look squished.

Ok then, so if I had a modern TV and an RGB scart cable (which I think I might) then I still need my console chipped to play downloaded NTSC games or not? (I hate being such a n00b =.=")

You need a modded console or a boot disk/swap disk if you want to play any burned games.

And don't be stupid to download a boot disk on the net. It won't work. Buy one instead.
