Invisible Children

"In the spring of 2003, three young Americans traveled to Africa in search of such as story. What they found was a tragedy that disgusted and inspired them. A story where children are weapons and children are the victims. The "Invisible Children: rough cut" film exposes the effects of a 20 year-long war on the children of Northern Uganda. These children live in fear of abduction by rebel soldiers, and are being forced to fight as a part of violent army"

You know, I think it's a good thing that once in awhile, it's good to watch a serious documentary. A group of college kids decide to make a documentary about something. So they go to Africa in hopes of doing that. Just your average American trying to make it big. But they discover in Uganda about some of the war practices done there. The use of children.

Just take a look at least. I even provided with a link too, so you can watch it for free. It's about an hour long, but you can fast forward it if you like. It's a very well done documentary about the use of children as soldiers in certain parts of Africa. The maturity that these children has reached is amazing. Yet, you realize that these are just children.

I am friends with a guy from Nigeria. We were doing a media presentation together and his portion related to children from Sudan and another country nearby in Africa who are at war with one another and they will recruit/sometimes even steal little kids as young as seven in order to fight in the war. Some see it as an honor, but they do grow up so fast when in war that they barely remember what it's like to be a kid. Not to mention some of them were used as suicide bombers in Sudan (if I'm not mistaken).
