PC Gamepads

I know those ps2/pc universal ones are kind of hip but the local stores out here don't carry them...

So far what I've seen is either by logitech or saitek..

There's an xbox 360 one that also works on the pc but it's 40 dollars which is a bit pricey imo...

Anyone have any recomendations?

I've never needed anything more than a Logitech Dual Action. You should be able to get one for $20 or less.

I'm running my gc-pad as pc-pad with an usb-adapter for some time now, and I've never run out of buttons until now - and it didn't cost more than 20€

I have a Dual Action as well, but I play Sega Genesis games on my PC. Is there any gamepad that has all the buttons of the Dual Action plus two more for six on the button pad? Playing Genesis (and N64) games would be much easier with these two buttons.

There is a reason the PC-Xbox360 controller is expensive - It's amazing.

Though I'm still waiting for Microsoft to release a wireless dongle for the wireless controller for the PC, the wired one is just the best controller for the PC.

Now, as a temporary measure, until the wireless 360 controller is available for the PC, I modified a $4.99 Xbox HIP GEAR controller from my local blockbuster. All I had to do is splice the wires of a male USB cable with that of the end of the XBOX controller. It's really quite simple too, because the wires are even colour matched. Then, check out the driver XBCD for the xbox controller, and BAM! You've got a decent controller for $4.99. Not too shabby I say!

I ended up with the logitech dual action.. I play survival horror games primarily so it does the job. I had a gravis eliminator and after a few months the joysticks just went to shit.. shame cuz gravis used to make gamepads that lasted me years..

Double Post:
Btw.. Saitek has a gamepad with six buttons on the front.. if i remember right..

Saitek has a 6 button pad, but I believe the dpad on it is utter shit. If you want a good pad for emulated games, get the USB Saturn pad from Sega.

Other then that the closest I found for Megadrive games is a Genius Maxfire g-09d. you may find it a bit big though, but at least its very light.

Hi. Radio Shack has a converter for a PS2 controller to USB. Sup best controller for about everything. 15 bucks is a good price.

I personally disliked the Xbox 360 controller on my PC. It screwed up my sound whenever I hooked it up for some reason, and though it has good analog sticks, its d-pad leaves a lot to be desired. Therefore I would really not recommend paying the money for one solely for PC usage as they are also rather expensive.

Yep, if you manage to find a good converter, the PS2 pad is still the best in my opinion as well.

dude, just buy the REGULAR Xbox360 controller, it's the same thing. the only thing different with the "Windows" version is the fact that they include a driver disc.

there's the drivers.

This is my gamepad of choice. Similar feel to a PS2 controller and it's wireless. $40, though. But worth it.
