Drawn to Life (Panasonic 3DO)

A new DS game from a virtually unknown developer, 5th Cell. Mostly because up until now, all their games have been floating around cell phones. Just look at the exciting world of Mini Poccha and Darts Pro! But Drawn to Life sounds pretty awesome. Seems to be a platformer of some sort mixed with Mario Paint and 'Insert an RPG with town creation here'. Here's where I quote the PR;

Quote:

A dying village, embraced by everlasting winter, has cried out to you, the Creator, for assistance. The remaining inhabitants of the village need you to bring back all their lost possessions such as the sun, moon, fruit trees, fish, rain clouds, plants, animals and more!

However, you cannot recreate these items without a set of blueprints, so you must collect the "Template pages" for each object. To make the situation even more difficult, each page has been torn up and scattered across the world. To do this, the player must create their own heroes, a Creation specifically suited to fly, run, jump, swim or smash their way through snowy fields, tropical islands, dark forests, crowded cities and grassy hills.

Once you've secured a requested Template, you can enter the village, draw it and place it somewhere in the village. While in the village you can hang out and interact with the inhabitant's and your own Hero Creations. Follow them around and see their reaction to your work!
So stuff you draw animates itself, like Pac-Pix I guess. Except without the wakka wakka wakka. And all the goons in town will comment on your elite artistic touch screen skills. "Did you see his pants, they're green" "I KNOW, it blew my mind, just the other day he had blue pants" "Let's have tea and biscuits". There's some more information over at Pizza Hut and 5th Cell's site. No release date yet (they haven't even got a publisher). Hopefully someone will pick it up, or I'll most likely complain just a bit, then do nothing about it. Crisis over.

Looks awesome, I love all these "draw stuff and it starts doing stuff" games, Pac Pix included. I don't know in how far it'll live up to the promise of being able to create your own stuff, at least in the sense that it'll matter to the game, but I'm sure I'll love it anyway.
