It's pretty cool, I like the delay echo "81 - Square Lead." This is pretty gr00ve groove while being kind of dramaticish at the same time and I like that!!!! Bread Duck EP - Grassy - This is a happy beep duck EP Grass. If I had to guess what this song was called without knowing the title, I would probably guess "Bread Duck EP - Grassy." If I did guess that, I would be right too!! Flimbo's Quest (C64 Game Rip) - Track 1 - This is a happy beep flimbobobob track. If I had to guess what this song was called without knowing the title, I would probably guess "Flimbo's Quest (C64 Game Rip) - Track 4." Unfortunately, unlike Grassy, I would be incorrect in that case. Glover (Game Rip) - Atlantis Realm Level 3 - I love the music to the Atlantis levels in Glover. I prefer both Levels 1 and 2 over 3 musically though. that doesn't mean this one isn't still cool though!!! This one is still cool! I just love these samples and the calm, kind of emotional atmosphere it has in a way . (but 1 and 2 both have those traits and do it in a way I like more unfortunately :< .... ). THAT SAID I am giving this point(s) still. Gunstar Heroes (Game Rip) - Ending - NON you seriously are my JOLTing Gunstar HERO| I like this track over the non-NON tracks in this week. MADWORLD Original Soundtrack - It's A Mad World - Uh oh Rememory Original Soundtrack - Court (game A) - This is pretty neat and sounds older than it is. I like the almost (or actually??) FM-y sounds and basic synth tones along with it! ZERO DIVIDE Original Game Soundtrack - CONFUSION (IO STAGE) - Whoa this is reallllly great!!!! This is my favorite "find" of the week (though I didn't have to look very hard I just had to listen to all of the son6s. Save the best for last as they always say in the books (and the looks (and the hooks sometimes)). WHAT ARE YOU DOING chords why are you so BIG and fusiony. Wow that is 1996 {{["()4#1 that is the same year as my two favorite OSTs (I guess 1996 was a pretty good year?!). |

This week is pretty sweet. Gunstar Heroes is easily one of my favourite finds.
(2 points) Gunstar Heroes (Game Rip) - Ending There's just something very fascinating about this track. The retro synth? The simple but super catchy melody? Jolt's hilarious comments? (2 points) Bible Black ~La noche de walpurgis~ (Game Rip) - Black magic I wasn't sure what to think of it initially and then I was won over in no time. Very nice pay off. (1 point) Glover (Game Rip) - Atlantis Realm Level 3 This just flows really nicely (no pun intended, serious!). The track length was mind-boggling when I first saw it, but I didn't really mind when it started playing. Very chill. (1 point) Rememory Original Soundtrack - Court (game A) I was very tempted to give Gunstar 3 points until this track came along. Figured I would agonise for a while if I didn't give the simple and catchy "Court" a point. I'm still kicking myself for not giving a point to "Confusion". Quote:

So much that I'm actually going to comment on all of them. Bible Black ~La noche de walpurgis~ (Game Rip) - Black magic Not a big fan of the electric guitar synth in this one, but other than that, I pretty much dig it. Sounds a little like Mario Kart 64 at times, which is definitely not a bad thing. Bread Duck EP - Grassy I like the happy-go-lucky mood here. Very upbeat, and the melody is catchy, too. Flimbo's Quest (C64 Game Rip) - Track 1 Another happy track, and a chiptune at that. Can't go wrong with catchy bleep-blop-blippyness. Glover (Game Rip) - Atlantis Realm Level 3 I know, it goes on forever, but I'm perfectly fine with it here, especially since it's so relaxed. I really like how it's chilled while still retaining catchy melody and some solid percussion, not going completely ambient. Gunstar Heroes (Game Rip) - Ending Hmm, not too shabby. The melody seems familiar, but I can't tell where I've heard it before. MADWORLD Original Soundtrack - It's A Mad World This one reminds me of that infamous Mickey Rourke track from the BSC 2011. I could have done without the vocals, but the instrumentation is interesting enough for me to like this. I usually don't like rap at all, but it's actually quite alright here. Also, for some reason, quite a few people have audiosurfed this one, while the scoreboards were completely empty for all the other tracks. Rememory Original Soundtrack - Court (game A) More chiptunes. Don't really know what to say about this one though. Overall liking it though. Melody somewhat reminds me of Pokémon. ZERO DIVIDE Original Game Soundtrack - CONFUSION (IO STAGE) There's quite a lot of action going on here, altough the melody somewhat fails to appeal to me. Actually, screw that, I'm on my fourth listen and I'm just starting to like it, let's give it a point. Also, props to whoever figured out the correct composers for the Glover track. Although Allister Brimble was credited with the music on pretty much every rip I came across aswell as some other places, the actual game credits only list him in the sound effects department. That'll teach me to not always listen to what everyone else is saying and do my research properly next time ;). |

2 points: CONFUSION (IO STAGE) 2 points: Ending Barely Missed: Track 1, Black Magic :3:: Court (game A) Actually the best track this week but noone will ever comprehend it: Atlantis Realm Level 3 This was some sort of week. Shoutouts to music you'll never hear in-game because the scenario/cutscene isn't even long enough to fit all the music in. 1:25 of the Gunstar Heroes track, I think this is my first time hearing that. Confusion was excellent and if I wasn't so busy I would be playing that track nonstop. |
