I'm currently transferring the sotw.info domain name to a different registrar, so the site may be a bit wiggity while that's getting worked out. Just in case someone is actually trying to access the site today for some reason.

(3 points) inMomentum - Zoned In: The chopped up voices at the beginning are reminiscent of a bLiNd track, and really got me into the track. It throws enough elements to the wall and most of them stick.
(2 points) Mushihimesama Double Arrange Album - The Black Shell Beast King (Stage4): I'm a relative sucker for cold synths, and this track has enough good atmosphere to spare. (1 point) Kaze no Klonoa - door to phantomile Original Soundtrack - THE RING: Solid PSX-era tunes. Stage theme? Boss theme? Just missed: Image Fight -G.S.M. IREM 1- - FOREST; ear worm that is BEST HIT YCO - ECO-G feat. mioco |
2 points: Death Crimson History - Mercenary
2 points: Kaze no Klonoa - door to phantomile Original Soundtrack - THE RING 1 point: BEST HIT YCO - ECO-G feat. mioco 1 point: Big Brain Academy (Game Rip) - Title would've gotten a point if not for how hard I'm laughing at ECO-G: The Black Shell Beast King <Stage4> Quote:
I know some people who are rather dismissive of the modern Nintendo sound team, mostly on account of all the cutesy crap they have to churn out for all these dang Wii and DS casual games. These people are completely wrong, as Nintendo has amassed probably the most creative and talented set of composers they've ever had, save maybe for the period starting when Soyo Oka joined Nintendo and ending when she left. Fucking Touch Generations music ALL DAY EVERY DAY man the Big Brain Academy title theme is so delightfully bizarre, how is this appropriate for anything. Laughing forever at ECO-G quoting Kool & the Gang's "Celebration," Nee I know this is entirely the reason you nominated it don't even try to pretend otherwise |
wesomenauts - Wormhole Surfing This track has a (predictably, I suppose) awesome sound, but it really needs a stronger melody. The one that it's got is almost inaudible over that awesome bass line.
EST HIT YCO - ECO-G feat. mioco I'm not sure what those girls were shouting "echo dream" about. Certainly not the pretty bleh music around them, 50% watered-down J-Pop and 50% repetitive 80's style bass. ig Brain Academy (Game Rip) - Title This soung sounds like it was produced on carefully tuned babies. eath Crimson History - Mercenary Interesting mix of jungle sounds and stadium sounds here. Individuals moments are pretty neat but there are a bunch of times when all the momentum goes out of the music. Neat but flawed. mage Fight -G.S.M. IREM 1- - FOREST It fulfils the letter of the "generic action track" but doesn't bring much new to the table. nMomentum - Zoned In The voices are the big draw here, first chopped up and later unmodified. But there's also plenty of room for some really great electronica. aze no Klonoa - door to phantomile Original Soundtrack - THE RING Before you die, you ushihimesama Double Arrange Album - The Black Shell Beast King (Stage4) Cool is right, in both temperature and the kind of sunglasses this kind of jazz fusion evokes. This sort of thing isn't really my cup of tea, but I can recognize it as well-done regardless. he oint pread Zoned Out - 3 pts. Butthole Surfing - 2 pts.
