E3 2012
Monday is E3. Here are a few trailers to start 'er up with.
Injustice: DC based fighting game from the creators of the Mortal Kombat remake
Tomb Raider: Reboot of the franchise
Lego: Lord of the Rings
I'm looking forward to Lego Lord of the Rings. Lego Batman 2 comes out later this month as well. Injustice is looking pretty sweet as well. I wonder how OP Harley Quinn isn't going to be... hmmm The new Tomb Raider pushed back to next year, is looking fantastic as well. Discuss and share your favorite pre-E3 and E3 trailers and news bits when it's unveiled as it starts on Monday! Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Level 5 + Studio Ghibli = awesomeness

I saw your sig and thought it was a screencap from a new game. Now I'm disappointed. :(

Nothing from E3 is going to top the Revengeance trailer
WRONG #makeitright |
Hell, I wish Game Arts would get off their ass and make a Lunar 2 remake for PSP. Makes no sense in how Lunar 1 can be remade 6 times and Lunar 2 only 3 (counting Sega Saturn version).

Read that Rockstar won't be making an appearance this year.

So here's the schedule for press conferences the next two days (in Eastern):
Monday 12:30pm Microsoft Press Conference 4:00pm EA Press Conference 6:00pm Ubisoft Press Conference 9:00pm Sony Press Conference Tuesday 12:00pm Nintendo Press Conference I'm looking forward to Nintendo's conference to see what the Wii U is capable of and what their launch titles will be (hopefully they learned their lesson from the 3DS's initial launch lineup). Curious to see what they've got coming for the 3DS, I'm getting at least three more games from the system this year. Hopefully Sony will give me a reason to buy a Vita (games I'd want to play), otherwise for now it's just Ratchet and Clank collection. I would be surprised if we didn't hear anything regarding the PS4. I can't think of anything I'd get from EA. Ubisoft can have my money for Assassin's Creed III on 360 (crossing my fingers that it doesn't end up being as boring as Revelations was). Microsoft - Dead or Alive 5, Zone of the Enders HD Collection, Metal Gear Solid Rising Revengeance, and possibly Halo 4. I'm not sure what Microsoft has left, but I'm curious to see if they're going to mention their next gen console. I'm preparing for more painful Kinect demonstrations like the last two years. Edit: Nintendo Pre-E3 stream in about 20 minutes: http://www.nintendo.com/nintendo_direct. |
Why is Sony's conference so late in the day? D:
|
After a really underwhelming Wii U teaser right now, Nintendo's conference had best have copious amounts of Fire Emblem and third-party Wii U titles.
|
I still enjoyed the briefing.
At least the video was awesomely bad. |
The Wii U Pro Controller looks nice, at least. It's a 360 controller with a serviceable D-Pad.
|
Microsoft starting in about an hour. Anyone know a good stream?
Looking to see how Halewl 4 is gonna be. Probably some shitty Kinect game announced as well. Big rumor of the day we'll see Diablo 3 for consoles announced. |

Sweet. Totally forgot about the live youtube streaming thing now. Thanks much!

The OS ubiquity of SmartGlass makes it a lot more compelling than, say, AirPlay. I have an iPhone, an Android tablet, and an Xbox. Glad someone's stepping up and making a good option for people who don't sit in just one ecosystem.
|
It is shockingly clear now that Nintendo did video yesterday to try to get ahead of this.

This was a terrible conference. The game demonstrations were hasty and rushed. Most of "announcement" videos were just cg teasers with nothing about the games. Way too much non-gaming stuff. New Splinter Cell continues Conviction's direction sadly (but without Michael Ironside).
I had had high hopes for the new Tomb Raider game (as it had looked really good), but judging by this new demonstration, it's going to be scripted cinematic linear shooty action setpieces shit ala Uncharted now. God damnit. New Gears... actually that might be ok. I hope. It's got Baird so. Matter looks interesting, but that's probably because it has a neat artstyle, and they didn't really show anything of it. If it turns out to be some kinect shit, I will cry and just give up on the 360 entirely. Let's see how much Move and social party game shit Sony will manage to put in their conference. |

Even fucking Resident Evil 6 is following the trend too. I'm so turned off from the games already because I DO NOT WANT MORE UNCHARTED. |
Okay, so I'm glad it's not just me who didn't give two shits about any of the games that have been shown off.
|
It's pretty sad when the entertainment side of the 360 (IE and addition of more video related stuff) were the highlights of the show to me. The only game I was even excited about was the South Park RPG.
However, there were no Kinect demonstrations with children so that was a bit of an improvement. Overall it was disappointing, Sony should be able to top that. Also, I almost facepalmed at work after that Usher mini-concert when that guy came back and said "Microsoft is USHERing in the future of gaming" or something to that extent. |
Only thing worth a damn from Microsoft was South Park. Smart Glass could be cool, but way too early to tell, glad its cross platform (hi android). Gears of War Origins: Baird might be neat. My co-workers who are sports nuts are happy about NBA and ESPN coming to 360.
EA's conference was lol. Battlefield 3 Premium is Call of Duty Elite. I hate this era of gaming, seriously. At least Sim City looks pretty. |
