Megaman Powered Up
Anyone have it? Is it worth it? I know it's a Mega Man 1 remake with big heads, but Mega Man 1 was TOUGH! Plus, all the reviews said they made it harder?!
I'm really interested in being able to play as the bosses if you beat 'challenge mode', but I need someone to tell me it's not insanely hard and frustrating before I buy it . . . |
You had to have read reviews on it... If you go to psp discussion. we talked alot about it. Im a huge megaman fan. I loved it. The Remixed songs were amazing also the 2 new added Robot Masters, Timeman and Oilman, fit the lineup. You can even play as them. You'll be addicted to it. There are more features though.
Im still waiting for Capcom to release the 8bit version of Oilman and Timeman's sprite and stage. |
Sorry. I thought the PSP discussion thread was more about the system and less about the games.
Anyway, thanks for the response! Sounds like a great game! |
Its amazing. you also get to play as Protoman. But i stopped playing the game for a while now.

I've had the game for a while now and seriously, it's one of a few games that make the PSP worth owning.
Megaman Powered Up! actually features 12 playable characters total. Besides Megaman, you can play as each of the 8 Robot Masters -- Cutman, Iceman, Elecman, Gutsman, Fireman, Bombman and the two new ones, Timeman and Oilman. To play as them, simply use ONLY the Mega Buster to beat them, and you'll disable them instead of blowing them up. If done correctly, Megaman will ask them if they're okay. The above makes a total of nine characters. After you beat all 100 of the game's Challenges, which are quite difficult, you'll unlock Protoman as a playable character. By going online with your PSP, you can also download and play as Roll, who uses a broom instead of a buster and plays a bit like Zero. This brings the total from nine to eleven. So, who's the mysterious 12th character? Actually, it's none other than Rock Man. Wait, what?! Well, thus far it's only been a rumor I've heard, as I've seen nothing official or heard of anyone doing it, but if you beat the game on Hard Mode, you supposedly unlock Rock Man, whose only attack is the infamous Rock Kick, which cameo'd in Megaman 8 under the guise of the Mega Ball. This time, there won't be any balls to kick. So, there are 11 confirmed characters, and a 12th unconfirmed one. At least as far as I know. Anyway, the game also features a Level Editor -- that's right, design your own stage, try it out, and upload to Capcom's website from your PSP! Anyone can download it and conversely, you can download other people's creations, and go ballistic. See if anyone out there can out-do Capcom in making ridiculously hard stages. Yes, this game goes highly recommended from me. If you like this one, you should also definitely check out Megaman: Maverick Hunter X. Seriously, if I could only one game, it'd be Maverick Hunter X. |
I LOVE the soundtrack for MHX, and playing as Vile would rock!
Anyone have the rip for powered up yet? |
