Song of the Week - WEEK 228 Voting/WEEK 229 Nominating
Song of the Week. 225 Weeks and counting.

Nominate songs for these upcoming theme weeks: Jap Bitch Can't Sing: The Weakquel Some people got cut out of Jap Bitch Can't Sing Weak, so we're doing it again. A note on vocal week: there are only five slots remaining. ZiggyGo has a carryover nom from the last time (Waterway ~Mio~ Ar tonelico II Hymmnos Concert Side Blue -EXEC_over.METHOD_SUBLIMATION/.~lamenza), and isdapi and Darkcomet72 jumped the gun last week and nominated stuff. So yeah, keep that in mind.
Here is a plain ol' ordinary nom:

WHOA BIGGEST NOM FLOOD EVER, HEAD FOR THE HILLS D:
I have like nothing for an Epic Proportions theme week (7 minutes minimum is just mean). I generally just like the sissy, catchy 3 minute tracks lacking in epicness. :eagletear: I'll gladly grab another Jap Bitch nom spot though, if nobody else minds---I got a nom in last time so only include the nom below if you need an extra. ~a bitch of a nom~ Vocalist: Kanako Ito Composer: Yoh Ohyama Album: Boku no Te no Naka no Rakuen Original Sound Track Track Title: Papiliones Track Number: 2 Year: 2009 Catalog Number: HBMS-305 Additional Information: ZIZZ REPRESENT (Kanako isn't a bitch though, she's lovely <3) ~a pretty normal nom by all measures~ Composer: Solaya Album: Gran Turismo Original Sound Collection Track Title: Yummy Trip Track Number: 17 Year: 2009 Catalog Number: VRCL-4010 Additional Information: it really is delicious nom overflowin' at the ftp =O |
Nice week. Kinda enjoyed a bit of everything.
3 points - The Oil Blue (Game Rip) - Reclaiming the Island Has a slight Secret of Evermore (or Mana) feel to it. I like that, Mr. Geer. 2 points - The Addams Family - Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt (SNES Game Rip) - Attic Wish I could give this piece by Mr. Dunn 3 points. I've enjoyed this game's soundtrack since I was a kid. 1 point - Friends ~The Radiance of Youth~ Acoustic Arrange Version - Shizuka's Theme Third place was close, but I'm handing it to Sato-san's composition. |
Could I request for uploads to the tracks from Week 227? My Internet connection was down and missed out on last week.

Sorry for the absent as of late. I'll be back to semi-normal soon-ish... Going to Japan in a week and a half for 3 weeks, but I should (hopefully) be able to participate. I'll throw in a regular nomination here later (unless we desperately need epic nominations for that theme).

Alice Sound Collection III - Type Zero A fun synthy piece with nice melody and beat. Good stuff.
Formula Nippon '99 (Red Book Audio) - Race Theme 1 Decent guitar race 'em up ballad. Friends ~The Radiance of Youth~ Acoustic Arrange Version - Shizuka's Theme Snazzy, jazzy instrumental with a cool 60's vibe Last Ninja 2 Music Collection - Central Park in-game The sound's a little grating, but the underlying beat is pretty solid. The Addams Family - Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt (SNES Game Rip) - Attic I remember the GB version of this having some nifty music, but this is pretty great too. Got that slight gothic touch you'd expect, but all jauntified. The Dig Soundtrack - Underwater Cavern The Dig is great for sheer New Age ambiance. This isn't my favorite song from the game (that plum goes to "Cathedral of the Lost") but it gets the job done. The Oil Blue (Game Rip) - Reclaiming the Island This OST is really fantastic for such an obscure game, and this is the pick of the lot, with a super-strong melody offset by some great ambient passages. Check out the full OST at Bandcamp. Xenon 2 - Megablast (Amiga Game Rip) - Title Decent sound with some annoying vocal samples. Great week; point distribution was tough. The Point Spread Reclaiming the Island - 3 pts. Type Zero - 1 pt. Shizuka's Theme - 1 pt. Attic - 1 pt. Nomination Just kidding! |
(2 points) Alice Sound Collection III - Type Zero

3 points: Xenon 2: Megablast (Amiga Game Rip) - Title
2 points: Last Ninja 2 Music Collection - Central Park in-game 1 point: The Addams Family - Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt (SNES Game Rip) - Attic Honorable Mentions: Underwater Cavern, Race Theme 1 |

And here are points for this week. Some really neat tracks this week. (2 points) Alice Sound Collection III - Type Zero (2 points) Formula Nippon '99 (Red Book Audio) - Race Theme 1 (2 points) The Oil Blue (Game Rip) - Reclaiming the Island The Dig and The Addam's Family nearly got points. |
I'm pretty sure this doesn't loop...but if it does, please correct me.
Epic Proportions Nomination Artist: Sota Fujimori Album: SYNTHESIZED Track: Kind Lady-2008- Extended Mix- Track Number: 2 (of 16) Disc: 1 (of 2) Duration: 7:37 Source: LC-1644~5 | SYNTHESIZED - VGMdb Votes: 2 points: Type Zero 2 points: Race Theme 1 1 point: Reclaiming the Island 1 point: Underwater Cavern |
2 points - Alice Sound Collection III - Type Zero
2 points - The Addams Family - Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt (SNES Game Rip) - Attic 1 point - Formula Nippon '99 (Red Book Audio) - Race Theme 1 1 point - Xenon 2 - Megablast (Amiga Game Rip) - Title Not gonna screw up my points this week. Also, Central Park should've got points too, but this was a very good week. |
Alright, an Epic Proportions nom:
Album: Bio Hazard Orchestra Album Artist: NEW JAPAN PHILARMONIC, Kazunori Miyake Track #: 2 Track Title: I won't let this end as a dream (Orchestra version) Year: 1999 Source: VGMdb Length: 8:52 |
3 points: Underwater Cavern
1 point: Title 1 point: Reclaiming the Island 1 point: Central Park in-game Just missed: Type Zero, Shizuka's Theme Oh what, a David Whittaker tune that I actually like. Also exactly how many Amiga tunes use that awwwww yeah sample. I absolutely love Mr.Chubigans' games, and his use of licensed or stock music in his soundtracks (everyone play Greentech now). Haven't played Kablooey or Oil Blue yet, but it's good to hear nice original music from his games as well. Central Park in-game reminds me of Jonathan Dunn's Ocean Loader 4, which gives it the nod over the just missed tunes. And apparently over the actual Dunn tune this week. Very good week. |

2 points: Last Ninja 2 Music Collection - Central Park in-game
1 point: Xenon 2 - Megablast (Amiga Game Rip) - Title 1 point: The Addams Family - Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt (SNES Game Rip) - Attic 1 point: Friends ~The Radiance of Youth~ Acoustic Arrange Version - Shizuka's Theme 1 point: The Dig Soundtrack - Underwater Cavern "Title" is beautiful; doors is awesome; Michael Land is a genius; "Attic" is insane fun; "Central Park" is nom-bias. Great week. |
2 points: Alice Sound Collection III - Type Zero
2 points: Friends ~The Radiance of Youth~ Acoustic Arrange Version - Shizuka's Theme 1 point: The Oil Blue (Game Rip) - Reclaiming the Island 1 point: Xenon 2: Megablast (Amiga Game Rip) - Title Great week. Like a lot of the things I nominate, the intro is the part of Type Zero I like the most. It is a bit generic, but it has a lot of flair and I dig that. I wish Shizuka's Theme's melody were stronger, but it's still a hella fun track. Reclaiming the Island and Underwater Cavern are both high quality mood setters. I went back and forth deciding which to give a point to. Race Theme 1 is pretty cheesy, but who cares :megaman:. And Central Park in-game is C64 music being C64 music and that is alright with me. |
