So this guy from Harvard (about 5 miles from my house) committed suicide this weekend. He left a 1900+ page nihilistic suicide note (more like a MANIFESTO) on the internet . . . it covers everything from technocracy to masturbation to the holocaust to artificial intelligence.

Thing is, I figure that if I were at a point in my life where suicide looked like the only answer, I would have 1900 pages worth of things to say why.

And I guarantee you 1899 pages of it wouldn't be worth reading.

The guy used a huge font to double the page count. He used LaTeX, though, so props for not being a total douche.

I don't think the font is that big, it just looks like the pages are pretty small (like, paperback size, not standard letter) . . . either way, it's not a term paper . . . it's a freaking 1900 page suicide note.

I've been reading some of it. I can't say I completely disagree with his theories on technocracy and christianity.

I have to say, if you have to kill yourself, you may as well think of every reason why. With 1900 pages who's going to say no ?

I think he was trying to prove a point. Who knows, might turn out to be a classic.

I wonder if he wrote it more for other people or get stuff off his chest.

If it really got off his chest, I wonder if it might save him from committing suicide in the first place. :<

No wonder he killed himself. He must've thought the note would be worth the value with his death (like artists whose works rocket after their death).

Just perhaps. 1900+ pages of various something aren't gonna finish themselves without any apparent aids.

Only someone from Harvard would leave a suicide note that long. However, it if wasn't in proper MLA format I'm afraid that's going to cost 10% of his grade.
