I can’t see the files that I download to my desktop
 

I am using the latest version of firefox. Windows XP service pack 3. Whenever I try to save a file to my desktop, it doesn’t show. However, if I go to documents and settings and open the desktop folder in there, then I can see the file. I just can’t see it on my actual desktop if I download it. Does anyone know what’s going on? What can I do about this?

So, the files you see in your desktop. Do they match the contents of your Documents & Settings desktop folder?

What if you right-click your desktop and auto-arrange the icons?

Are there multiple users on your computer, and are you accidentally saving to the wrong desktop?
