Frogatto Game release!
Hello gamers. Just thought I'd make a new thread to announce the release of Frogatto and Friends, an oldschool platformer available for Iphone.
Quirky little game in the style of 'metroidvania'. I composed the soundtrack and produced sound effects. (which is why it's so awful. Yes yes, you can BLAME ME PERSONALLY.) I also wanted to give a shout out to Guido Bos and Richard Kettering as they composed some rather incredible sprites for the game. Peace Apple - Downloads - Mac OS X - Games |
That's a link to download it for Mac, but I don't see it in the App Store yet.

Thanks
My apologies for getting ahead of myself It hasn't gone through to the app store yet. It SHOULD be there within the next few days. It IS the featured game in the games section. As far as an iphone release. I am hesitant to say exactly when as I realize there is a tendency to reject certain games for technical reasons ... Not sure how this will play out... But our status will be updated here for anyone interested Frogatto a Staff Pick in the Apple Website Downloads Section There is currently a mac, windows, source build available for free. http://www.frogatto.com/download |

Since this is GFF... are you planning on releasing the soundtrack?
|
Yes. The thought had definitely occurred to me! :D
I am hesitant to release a "complete" soundtrack atm b/c that's a lie... pieces are being continually added and the game is being updated as well. I'd love to wait around until I have enough material for a full soundtrack. |
Well, it sounds cool. I wish I could create games. I am definitely impressed by your abilities, even if you are not sure of your choice of soundtrack. Thanks for sharing!

:) hehehe. Thx.
Appreciate you taking the time to listen. I am unimpressed with the quality of the audio. Hard to admit as I've spent so much time composing the soundtrack. At the time it seemed like a good idea to stay scaled down and within the framework of chiptunes and snes styled synths, but in retrospect it's a style type which won't be engaging to most. Overall, I was happy with the compositional style of the game and the layout of the theme development. Initially I wanted to start with a game that sounded like Mario or Sonic but it turned out a bit different. I don't know that this was a WISE decision as people probably aren't going to like or get what I'm going for... but it's nice to see that you like what's going on. Take care |
