Sony is set to rock the gaming world once again with a new play platform entry. The PSi (interactive) is just 4.5” wide and carries a 3” LCD with 16 million colors. Other familiar features include a tightly squeezed UMD and memory stick duo.

I don't know what to make of this myself. We've all heard rumors of a PSP "2.0" in the works to take on the DS Lite, but will Sony really rerelease its PSP platform so soon?

The render looks a little lame, and the touchscreen functionality just screams "we were wrong about calling the DS a gimmick".

Either way, what do you guys think?

It's safe to say that is fake. If Sony does plan releasing a revised PSP, I highly doubt they would put a touch screen on it. And I could just tell by looking at that, that it would be extremely hard to use the analog stick and use a stylus at the same time. Plus they would probably make it easier on everyone, and put the analog above the digital pad, instead of keeping it in the horrible spot it's in on the current PSPs.

Well granted, I don't think they have a stylus in mind. The touchscreen is probably only there for the other functions -- internet, etc.

But yeah, it's probably fake.

It would be pretty hard to use a touch screen without a stylus with a screen that small, especially if you have big fingers, plus, without one, the screen would be ruined very quickly.
