Very nice, this one is just entertaining. The fact that there's no real ending and it was obviously meant to just loop endlessly in-game hurt its, though.

This is probably my favorite song of the week, really like the instruments used together. Great ending, too, I'm a sucker for warped music.

I completely missed last week...I keep forgetting about this place or thinking I've already voted when I havent.

Additional Info: Genesis version. I just found out recently at the same time that I was reminded of this track, that according to Matt Furniss himself, this track was actually originally for a stage in the game that went unused. Since the stage went unused, this was just thrown on to both the options and game over screen despite being one of the most developed tracks from the game.

Alcahest (Game Rip) - Free Space Decent SNESage with some nice rhythmic bits. I need to try this game out one of these days; it's on the top of every SNES RPG list.

Cosmic Carnage (Game Rip) - Zena-Lan's Stage It's got a cool sound, but I was hoping that it was building to something a bit more than what I got. Still, not bad.

Kyokugen Dasshutsu 9 Jikan 9 Nin 9 no Tobira Soundtrack - Binary Game Weird and not really all that engaging.

Mickey's Speedway USA (N64 Game Rip) - Oregon O Darkcomet u. Anything that uses a jew's harp can't be all bad, plus it doesn't sound like ass despite being clearly mrked as N64.

Muppet Monster Adventure (Game Rip) - The Muck Monster Slimeth I guess I was expecting a bit more than big band muzak with that title. Don't get me wrong, it's fine big band muzak as far as stuff like that goes.

Radiata Stories (Game Rip) - Struggle I I normally don't go in much for Iwadare, but if there was ever a prefect match between his cheesy style and a goofy game, it's Radiata Stories. This is what plays if you kick people too much, and it's pure jazzy fun.

The Dog Island (Game Rip) - Credits Nice acoustic guitar. Who's have expected something as (apparently) vapid as "The Dog Island" to have decent music?

Tobal 2 Original Sound Track - [Checkered Career] (album original mix) Synths = good. Everything else = meh.

I love the fresh, outdoorsy acoustic sound of the The Dog Island soundtrack, it's surprisingly proficient and well-produced (also thanks CHz for discovering the composer credits, very interesting). Quality was high this week, but still I didn't have much trouble in my point distribution. All tracks offered something and I was pleased with each one to some extent, special mention to the Giacchino-composed Muppet track, it was a really fun romp. Yes, even the ridicu-cheese of Struggle was good.

Also this week is really short compared to others; possibly the first time ever my nom has been the longest track.

Very good week.

Loving the old school reps here. Have yet to fully listen to Ishikawa's non-Kirby works, though I'm aware of the dude's mad talent. Free Space is a super solid tune with a great melody (that reminds me of that snowfield music in Secret of Mana for some reason), and nice development, a rarity in VGM. Equally solid is Zena-Lan's Stage, 0:53-loop was awesome.

Binary Game was a wonderful psuedo-oldschool tune with those FM synth like samples. Piano sample was the only oddball - it was too high quality compared to the rest of the track and sounded a bit jarring. A lower quality sample would've done wonders.

Best part of [Checkered Career] is the groovy bass line at the beginning, but jeez if that doesn't clash oddly with the rest of the tune. Not bad though; it had some YACK-style synth'n, and a guitar solo that seems to have only been added because sure why not.

I think I enjoy Struggle I more than the other Radiata Stories noms I've heard, but to be honest I don't even remember anything about them so uhh... well this is actually pretty cool, especially the 5 seconds right before the loop.

Credits has a real generic melody which makes it difficult to like, but the guitar performances were pretty nice. Probably my least favorite this week, but still decent.

I'm more aware about Giacchino's ability to control a jazz ensemble, so The Muck Monster Slimeth isn't half as surprising as that Schyman tune last week. Who is/are the drummer(s), I need to give them a congratulatory hand touch.
