Help Me Choose a New Game

Ok, so I have some cash for a new game. (Gotta love Grandparents ;) ) Should I get TimeSplitters 2 for AU$40, or a two-for-fifty deal? To my knowledge, The Sims 1+2, Medal of Honor European Assault and Viewtiful Joe 1 are available.
I'm broken between TS2, which I've been looking for for aages and MoH:EA + Viewtiful Joe.
Gamefaqs have rated all of them fairly well; I've got the previous iterations of MoH on GC; I have two weeks off school starting this weekend - Is two games better than one?
...There are always the alternatives of cds, gift for girlfriend, banking it, etc...

gift for girlfriend

CDs

Timesplitters isn't even that good. GameFAQs are easily impressed.

That Medal of Honor is iffy...Viewtiful Joe is however, worth buying.

RABicle Apr 11, 2006 12:51 PM

Dont listen to Lukage. Viewtiful Joe is a waste.

Viewtiful Joe is pretty damn awesome, but perhaps a gift for girlfriend would still be better.

Gift for girlfriend, definitely. Australia must have some games worth buying, right?

Forsakenzoul Apr 11, 2006 03:22 PM

Gift for the girl :) it gives you something with more replay value :D

You'd be surprised the amount of shit that comes down here. Oh sure, we have Shadow of the Colosssus six months after the american release, and a few other recent games worth buying which have been released elsewhere centuries ago, but that's it, really.

Those two-for-one deals are usually so places like eb can get rid of their garbage games. The last one I looked at featured such glorious titles such as Devil May Cry 2, Fifa 2003, Vampire Night, XIII, Splinter Cell, Rayman 3, Fifa Street, Rapala Fishing, Playboy, Shrek 2, Hobbit, Van Helsing, Dragon Ball Z Budokai 2, Batman Returns, Shark Tale, Evil Dead, and a bunch of others which I can't currently think of. And aren't even worth half the price.

In short: Very rarely.

But Viewtiful Joe is a fun game.

You could always purchase 'Viewtiful Joe' as a gift for your girlfriend - and Medal of Honor for yourself. That said, if she's into videogames.

Otherwise, TimeSplitters 2 is actually good - even though I'd say $40 AUS are quite a high price for such a relatively-old product.

'Nuff said, save it up for something bigger.

Freelance Apr 11, 2006 08:21 PM

The Sims 2 all the way, man. I didn't think much of the game...until I played it. However, if you decide on getting it, I'd suggest you pick up Nightlife too. It's the best expansion to the game so far, and I can't live without it now.

P.S. I hope you don't mean the console version of TS2...

Viewtiful Joe is an evil game!!! BEWARE!

Damn, why da hell do game developers make games so hard? Playing it in adult mode is f*c*ing hard left alone V-Rated (let's not even talk about Ultra V-Rated). I really don't like games that hard.

Plus the game ain't that big, it has 7 levels only and while it looks cool when you finish it you realize that it isn't that great after all.

That said, I'm waiting for Sonic Heroes that I've ordered a couple of days ago so what do I know :P

Grubdog Apr 12, 2006 11:02 PM

Viewtiful Joe is awesome. If you're too weak for the hard difficulties, don't play 'em. I'm glad Capcom is still catering to the real gamers. (and the game isn't really all that hard when you learn the patterns)

Check out the 2 for $50 deal, I got both Killer 7 and Viewtiful Joe 2 in that, best deal ever, both games are absolutely amazing. MoH however I wouldn't recommend, but hey if you like the series then you'll probably like it.

TS2 is also very good...

Why, because people enjoy easy games and don't complain about them on the internet?

I'm glad Viewtiful Joe's difficult. It's not that long, and like most arcade style games, it's challenging. If it were too easy, like I said, people would complain about how fast it takes to finish through the game. You can take a game that takes 2 hours to complete, but actually finishing it without dying/one credit complete is much more of a harder task.

Don't listen to RABicle, Viewtiful Joe is awesome!

I am psychic and can therefore tell you that Fireman Joe bought Timesplitters 2 two days ago.
