Gamingforce "Boosting" thread
 

Let's face it, playing a game with someone else is always more fun than playing alone and a lot of people here regularly play online together. Games these days are being increasingly geared towards online play and as such, if you're playing alone there are often things you can't do in games without someone else, be that levels that are just too tough on your own (Sup Earth Defence Force) or achievements you need to be online to get.

Especially with older games, it can often be tough to find random people online to play with, especially if you only just got the thing and aren't a hardened veteran. Although a lot of us have our gamer tags up here, I figured it might be nice to have a dedicated thread where we can post things we'd like to do in games that require other people and if someone else is up for it, they can join you to do it. You don't even have to get on a mic and talk to them if you're shy if you've got your objective laid out here.

For example, I'd dearly love to finish Rainbow Six Vegas 2's story on realistic but on my own I just can't beat the powerstation level where you're on your own at night. I keep getting killed and playing alone, getting killed means resetting to a checkpoint. With two players though you can respawn on your team mate, making it much easier so if anyone's up for playing through the last few levels on realistic some time I'd jump at the chance. To a lesser extent, I could at the same time pick up the achievement for playing as player 2, although that's less important to me.

Also, I've got that many achievements in Too Human, it'd be nice to pick up the Unstoppable ones which again, would be easier with someone else playing so if anyone fancies a few level 50 runs, let me know.

I'm sure I have all sorts of other odd achievements I could pick up in a similar fashion but those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

So if there's a game you'd like a team mate to play through, an achievement you'd like a hand getting or even just an older game you fancy playing with someone you vaguely know, post it here and see if anyone is up for it.

Right now I am trying to boost a bit in Bioshock 2. Also, if there is a decent way of boosting the max level achievement in GTAIV let me know and I'll play with you.

That's actually the only one I'm missing before I'm done with that game, too. And, yes, I, too hate the bridge area. However, I worry more about being thrown into the water than missing the jump.

I can help you with this one. I am pretty much always up for some Vegas 2 if I get an invite.

I wouldn't mind help with my last 100 points worth of Halo ODST, but that's a four person job and I imagine that will be tough to organize. I still need the Vidmaster challenge for Legendary Highway with Iron etc, Vidmaster for 4 player Heroic firefight, four firefight maps, and finish a firefight round without any kills.

I still need the arena wins and reviving all other players in a 4 player match.

I would be up for some multi player in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 and/or 2.

Never did bother getting around to any of those, plus I think punching people in the face as the Hulk with a few GFFers could be fun.

I could use a couple in Fable 2.

I haven't touched any of the two players ones, I need to see someone toss 10 people into the temple of shadows, and I need the last of murgo's dyes from getting all the teddies in the colosseum.

Any time, really. If you say something quickly enough it could even be now. I haven't gotten enough achievements lately, and I'm always down for 200ing/1000ing a game. Speaking of which, we should really finish doing that with RE5 as well.

Deni, if we can assemble a full team I'd join in with Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1. I don't remember how many achievements I have left that I need, but it was a blast when we did 4 player on it a long time ago.

I don't have MUA1 anymore but I still roll with 2 from time to time so I can probably help with those (I'll just roll with Thor, no problem). Also with Castle Crashers? I'm down for boosting it. Just tell me the time.

I don't know much people here but I can help with any achievements you need. Castle Crashers and Fable II, for instance. I've already completed both so I can just boost people who need it. Same for anything else I have, just check my games:

Achievement Summary

I'd be down for either Marvel UA 1 or 2. I don't really have any multiplayer achievement needs in them, but I'd help you guys out for fun. Ms. Marvel checking in.

I'm good for pretty much any role y'all need filled for MUA 1 or 2. I prefer Wolverine in 1 and Hulk in 2, though.

I'm quite fond of Moon Knight in MUA 1. I have no idea who he is, but his attacks are all pretty handy. Nightcrawler was pretty fun too if someone in the group has the DLC again.

That was MUA 2, wasn't it?

And if you don't know who Moon Knight is, you should read the latest incarnations of his comics. Some of the best stuff going, oddly enough.

I've only got MUA 1, so it would have to be that.

My knowledge of comics is pretty much limited to the ones that have been translated into cartoons and movies, and what I've learned from a few friends who read lots of comics. It's something I've always kind of regretted, but I don't want to go spending lots of money on yet another nerd hobby.

I collect a lot of nicer graphic novels, but most of my collection of things like marvel or DC are acquired via EDIT: COMPLETELY LEGITIMATE MEANS OF A SHOP AND NOT ON THE INTERNET.

I work Mon-Wed from 8am-5pm CST, and Thursday from 8am-12pm. I'm free to run through it anytime after work. I usually get online until at least 10:30pm.

I'm currently running through MUA1 with my roommate, but there are 4 player achievements I can't get with him, so I would probably be up for some random MUA1 to get the 4 player ones sometime in the near future. I'm a nightcrawler/deadpool/ghost rider fan for playing. Granted, I haven't given too many other characters a chance, but you play with what you know.

I need someone to give me a hand grabbing the last achievement I need for Fable 2. I need someone with the Temple of Shadows still active, as I need to see 10 people sacrificed.
