Travel question:
I've got a WD My Book (of some configuration, not sure off-hand the specs), and I'm wondering if it will be safe for me to carry it on a plane (mainly that the x-ray machine won't fuck up the magnetic drive and make me lose a shitload of data).

I always carry at least two harddrives in my hand luggage when traveling via plane. One is my regular external USB-harddrive and the other one is my internal laptop harddrive that I remove from the laptop (laptop goes into the normal luggage, my flights are usually too long for the battery to last).
Never had any problems with data loss on these drives so far. |
