Two of my nominations in a single battle, oh the luxury (both flying ahead of the pack, hohoho). Can't deny I listen to Caravan more than the Suzuki track. Overall a decent battle, though I'm afraid a track I just can't really get into (Opala) is gonna take the gold.

Let's treat the Battle like a regular week, with full comments!

Shotgun Ninja (Game Rip) - minipitt This one sounds a little better out of context. It wasn't even close to being the strongest track that week, but as far as Commodore-style chiptunes go, it's got all the right moves and not so many trills that my ears bleed.

Technosoft GAME MUSIC COLLECTION VOL.5 ~ Thunder Force IV - Stand Up Against Myself - Staff Roll Arrange Easily the most "safe" choice in an eclectic week, but it still does nothing for me, sounding like hundreds of other unremarkable shmup-style tunes.

SAV - Glooming I entered my votes this week on the way out the door to NYC, so I couldn't even remember what the music sounded like without a refresher. Glooming definitely has its moments of dark urban rock and a decent melody; if I'd had more time to consider (or if there had been fewer guitar solos) it might have earned a point.

Plants vs. Zombies (Game Rip) - Zombies on Your Lawn Still a whole lot of goofy fun, but you'd expect me to say that of course. Check out the accompanying music video, which has the lyrics as well as an explanation of why there are dolphin sounds.

Flyable Sound! -Flyable Heart Original Sound Tracks- - Caravan for 2 Pianos Piano Week was a bit of a bust (in retrospect I should have gone with my first choice, Cohen's Masterpiece from Bioshock), but this is a solid tune in any week and probably the most technically adept of any of the songs. Good stuff.

Two Worlds - The Album - Opala It's Harold Faltermeyer of Beverley Hills Cop and Top Gun fame, providing an evolved version of his trademark sound beefed up with orchestral samples and superior synth! If you don't like Harold, you hate the 80's. Do you really want to hate the 80's?

beatmania IIDX 16 EMPRESS ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK - Mind Mapping I cringe a bit whenever a Beatmania nomination comes up (this being our 8th so far) since they tend to be shitty trance. This one was actually a refreshing change with a semblence of structure and melody, which was enough to earn it a cookie from me.

SQUARE ENIX MUSIC Presents Music for Art - Flying Universe Easy-listening ambient fluff apparently is high up there on the like scale for lotsa peeps. Not my place to judge.

Interesting bunch, overall. Not entirely what I would have picked, but when are they ever?
