Everything that can go wrong will go wrong.
Cut to the chase--recently I've installed Windows XP on my computer, and installed a new harddrive (a slave drive). Things have been going remotely well, besides the fact that programs I've installed going on hiatus and really irritating my computer use.
First things first, I have an HP Prescision scanner that I used to use VERY REGULARLY before I installed the OS and harddrive. Since the installment of both, I tried re-installing it and for some reason it currently doesn't initialize. I've tried troubleshooting, going to the site to get some advice, everything; it just doesn't work. Yes I still have the disk to install it and all the plugs I need to get everything working--fact of the matter is, the scanner turns on, the program seems to be operating just fine, HOWEVER, it simply doesn't work. Next, my mouse has been fucking up. Why, I don't really know, but it has. It's a logitech optical mouse, and despite its brand its worked fine up until the install. Now it works very shittily and I don't know why. The plug in the back of my computer are all in and secure, so I can't understand why it's being this way. Now, for IE. For some reason today, IE or XP decided to be really gay and disable my use of the drop-down feature on the address bar. I don't recall touching anything that would otherwise impair this feature, so I don't know what the fuck is going on here. I'm not fond of Firefox so please don't suggest I switch browsers unless I absolutely-fucking-have to. I'm sure there are more shit problems with my computer, but at the top of my head those are the 3 that are pissing me off the most. If anyone can help me out with this and END MY FUCKING SORROW I would really appriciate it, thank you. |
Looks like your drivers for Windows XP decided to go to hell. Probably reinstalling Windows (making sure it's good if you, well pirated the OS) is your best bet.
Check your device manager and see if any of your hardware has a warning icon next to it (from what you've told me, something has to be not working here). |
