I snuck this in at the end of last week, so here it is for people who don't check the previous thread:

Does Monday really work better for you guys? Would moving to Tuesday–Monday or maybe even more in the middle of the week work out better?

I'm okay with keeping the close time as it is. Yeah, people wait until the last minute, but sometimes CHz and Orion do too, or beyond.

So to me, any additional votes that sneak in past overnight Sunday are a bonus. Everyone knows when SotW is supposed to end. If you procrastinate and get there late, it's not the fault of everyone else who managed to vote on time. If voting is still open, you're just lucky.

And if there aren't enough votes by Sunday night, then it's discretionary whether the week is extended, Simple enough.

Having said that incredibly insulting and sexist remark, I think it's only fair to say that Bayonetta is, quite possibly, one of the greatest female characters in video game history. Sure, she's a hypersexed, long-legged, suave-swaggering bi... I mean, witch who taunts her enemies with lines like, "Do you want to touch me...?" but, really, you'd be hard-pressed to find a female lead in any game with so much style and shit-your-pants propensity to decimate anything that gets in her way. She's not the eye-candy. The world around her is; she just revels in it.

2 points ~ Neo Steam - The Shattered Continent (Game Rip) - Castle Lady
1 point ~ tama-soft artist collection vol.03 - For you... from here the edge - the repeated scene
3 points ~ Two Worlds - The Album - Opala

0.9 points ~ Shock Troopers 2nd Squad - Promise of 505 (Stage 5)

Nomination:
I nominate this thinking that this album is obscure enough to be here. And if I recall correctly there aren't too many similtudes between this track and the ending theme of the game.

Album: ROCKMAN X ALPH-LYLA with Toshiaki Otsubo

Bomberman Generation (Game Rip) - Nekki Moon Unique Mix is mostly nothing, but has some neat dramatic flourishes dispersed here and there (like around the four minute mark). Not enough to make me want to revisit it at all, though.

Maybe I'm temporarily suffering ADD while I'm SotW'ing this week, but Impetuth Original Sound Tracks - Crystal cave (stage2) seems really uneventful and boring as well. Spooky synth line is more lame than appealing..

Now Legendary Axe II (Game Rip) - Stage 4 is actually good; interesting even. I love the dense, fuzzy sound and the somber traces of melody. Like wandering around alone in the pouring rain.

:tpg: (anything else would not do it justice)

Neo Steam - The Shattered Continent (Game Rip) - Castle Lady is wild, tame, and melodically appealing all at the same time. I really don't know how the music connects to the idea of a "Castle Lady", but it's pretty elegant throughout with a heroic finish so maybe that's it. =? SUDDENLY, SOARING GUITAR APPEARS. SUDDENLY, SOARING GUITAR FLEES

For Shock Troopers 2nd Squad - Promise of 505 (Stage 5), see the bomberman track evaluation. But substitute 'dramatic flourishes' for 'hilarious whoo samples'.

tama-soft artist collection vol.03 - For you... from here the edge - the repeated scene is some decent kt2. Not one of his better songs, but its slick tone and emotional progression puts it a cut above most of the tracks this week.

Two Worlds - The Album - Opala sounds impressive, sure, but still seems to be lacking some punch. I mean, I can't remember much about the track after I listen to it. Still, I'll be revisiting this one, it's a good listen. The sitar break is great.

oh, just see the terrible POINT pun i made last week, idk

I actually went to a lot of trouble making an April Fools post only to have it preempted by GFF's own house blend. Ah well.

Bomberman Generation (Game Rip) - Nekki Moon Unique Mix Way too long and way too diffuse for the amount of actual content.

Impetuth Original Sound Tracks - Crystal cave (stage2) Crystal caves tend to spawn some of the best VGM out there for whatever reason. I wouldn't put this up there with the best of them, but it has a nice sound and movement and thus perpetuates the trend.

Legendary Axe II (Game Rip) - Stage 4 Nice chippy soundset, but the music itself is really gray and depressing.

LEGO Island (Game Rip) - The Brickster Chase Always wondered what kind of original music the Lego games had before switching to regurgitated film scores. Hearing this, I can see why they went for chopped up John Williams for Lego Star Wars. It's got promise, but never really goes anywhere. The poor sound quality doesn't help either.

Neo Steam - The Shattered Continent (Game Rip) - Castle Lady This has a very original sound, with a nice melody, plenty of variety, and an appealing synth set. The odd opening is the only minor drawback, but that's why God invented Audacity.

Shock Troopers 2nd Squad - Promise of 505 (Stage 5) Pretty eclectic, but not very cohesive. Aside from the lol value of the orgasm sounds, it gets pretty annoying by the end.

tama-soft artist collection vol.03 - For you... from here the edge - the repeated scene Some nice string moments in this one, but it often feels incomplete, like a vocal or instrument line was cut out.

Two Worlds - The Album - Opala Two Worlds was done by Harold Faltermeyer, best known for "Axel F" from Beverly Hills Cop as well as Top Gun. There's not a whole lot of that sound in here, but there are enough similarities to tell if you really listen. It's a great easy listening piece with an almost Vangelis vibe and enough variety to keep things interesting.

Really tough to decide between the top two this week. Third place was easy though.

The Point Spread
Oplala - 3 pts.
Castle Lady - 2 pts.
Crystal Cave - 1 pt.

3 points: The Brickster Chase
2 points: Promise of 505 (Stage 5)
1 point: Castle Lady
Just missed: Nekki Moon Unique Mix, Opala

Whether it’s the almost randomly placed vocal samples, or the barely audible bass guitar, The Brickster Chase is fantastic. I can’t stop listening to this.

EDIT: Oh yeah it was april fools day a couple days ago wasn't it

3 pts. - For you... from here the edge - the repeated scene
2 pts. - Opala
1 pt. - Stage 4

Not too fond of this week's selection, but the repeated scene was a nice chill song.

Like my original post would have said, people know to get their votes in by Sunday night. If they don't, T.S. My delays this month have been attributed to SAUS, but I should return to form now that the glut of tracks is done.

(3 points) Two Worlds - The Album - Opala
(2 points) Impetuth Original Sound Tracks - Crystal cave (stage2)

Hi do we still all rush in Sunday evening to make some last second votes?

I hope I am following the easy voting template accordingly. It makes voting easy.

#include <iostream>
#include <string>
using namespace std;
string Song1,
Song2,
Song3;
int main ()
{

Song1=="Shock Troopers 2nd Squad - Promise of 505 (Stage 5)";
Song2=="Two Worlds - The Album - Opala";
Song3=="Neo Steam - The Shattered Continent (Game Rip) - Castle Lady";

cout << "Traditional";
cout << Song1 <<" - 3 pts.";
//Aww yeah Shock Troopers. Fun song wins the week.
cout << Song2 <<" - 2 pts.";
//Holy crap Harold Faltermeyer?
cout << Song3 <<" - 1 pt.";
//Had to give something else a point, Castle Lady was the best of the remaining stuff.

return 0;
}

Sorry if my C++ is rusty or poorly formatted, it has been a couple years since I used it in any capacity. Thankfully that template was there to aid me!

Oh and I tripped and fell on this nomination earlier today while walking. It was quite interesting, so I figured I should bring it forth to show everyone.
