Play-Asia experiences?
Just curious what your guys experiences are using play-asia.
Also for expedited shipping, do you prefer UPS or FEDEX? Thanks. |
Elixir doesn't like them, so they can't be all bad. I've ordered a few things from them with no problems, and I thought it was the general internet opinion that they were good to deal with.

It's adequate for "casual" ordering, and I've used it many times in the past. The selection in game music is very limited, but not that many order stuff outside that anyway.
I've once got a completely wrong cd when I ordered something. They didn't accept my desire to return it and get my money back, nor did they want to pay for the shipment to do so. That's just one occasion, though. I prefer CDJapan, Otaku and Cocoebiz for this kind of stuff anyway. |
I've purchased several stuff from PA, mainly games and little odds and ends like figures. Never had a single problem with them.
Once, I bought a figure and realized after I bought it that my address was incorrect for some reason, so I emailed them asking them if they had shipped it yet. They said they had already, but if I never get the item they will send me another one free of charge. Happily to say, I did get the item, although the box was all banged up (from the postal service, not PA). The figure itself was still intact, thank god. Based on my experiences, I recommend using them. I love their cheapo shipping prices to Canada. |
A fine store, although rather expensive even by import standards. The shipping costs to the UK are outrageous, and as such I always choose economy air. There are other, cheaper stores, but none with the same range and quality of service.

It's my favorite store regarding soundtracks and have no regrets to recommend them. I have to go to the custom most times, though, as PA puts no invoice into the package but that's a rather small issue.

I've bought a good number of figures from them in the past, and I haven't had any problems. They can be pretty odd about locking you into your order though, so be sure you have everything correct before submitting it. I tried to go in and edit the number of an item only 2-3 hours after I'd made the order, and it was already unavailable. They told me it was already being prepared for shipping and thus unchangeable even though it wasn't set to ship for several more days. That's not really a big deal, though.
We need to get Simdaddy in this thread to recount the time he ordered several games from Play-Asia and instead got a bottle of parmesan garlic sauce. |
Thanks everyone for their answers. I have FFXIII preordered and chose UPS 1-4 shipping. Just curious because I've never purchased anything through them before. Your stories make me a bit more confident doing business with them.

I've always used them for importing the Hori screen protectors for DS, DS Lite and DSi.
I also buy all my DS games there that goes in my collection. I can import the US versions for a decent price there (EU versions has these ugly huge-ass white cases). They've never failed me, and I've only ever used others, like yesasia, if they didn't supply the item at the time - like my DualShock 3. Also, FedEx. |

I'll admit seeing the positive responses here puts me at ease though! |
I like Play-Asia, I've purchased five Fantasy Zone related things from them. They're a good Fantasy Zone site. Only had one problem, and it was with a non-Fantasy Zone item so that's probably why.
UPS shippin' here. I like to pretend the van is Opa-Opa, so when I see it I'm like FUCK WHEN YOU GONNA UPGRADE TO THAT JET ENGINE and furiously hum the shop theme. |
Ok, forget about FedEx, from now on UPS rule the streets.
