Death Rally Now Available For Free

That is one hell of a piece of machinery.

Death Rally, one of the most fun top-down racers and also very deserving of a remake/sequel, is now available for free from Remedy Entertainment's website. It's a sub-50MB download, and features no multiplayer, but the full version of the single player is still there, with all of the pedestrian-killing, mine-trolling goodness that it had back in the days of yore.

Grab it if you're like me and loved the game (Hell, I've played it off and on no small number of times over the years) or if you're a lame fucker who never had the game in the first place.

They actually ported it so my computer won't whine that it won't work on anything beyond Windows 98? Awesome. I remember playing the demo on the Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition disc a million times and it's challenging enough to keep one busy for a couple hours.

Yeah, they updated it so you don't need to fuck around with Dosbox to get it working. Works great on my Windows 7 machines, too.

Awesome, I'll check it out then.

Why now? There`re some straight clones already (like Fast lane carnage) not to mention a lot of "3rd person" car combats

Because all those games are terrible! Death Rally isn't terrible.

Death Rally is awesome.

This is an awesome catch. I remember playing this a long time ago, then trying to fuck around with DosBox to play it again, but of course that didn't work.

I've been playing it for the past hour straight.
