I have a pS3. when i try to go only with my old ps2 games, it doesnt work. it says: PS2 adapter not found, try again. do i need to go and buy one of these things?

There isn't one. They stopped making PS2-compatible systems a few years back.

You'll need to find an old system with 4USB ports.

Depends. What model is it ? If its a 20-60 gig, You should be able to play it with no problems. if its an early 80 gig model, you're set..kind of. If you have the latest models, it won't work.
