Weird issue with mouse.

Lately my mouse has been acting weird.

Basically, let's say I'm viewing the forum. My mouse moves around fine, but when I want to click on a link, like let's say a link to a thread, it won't work. It won't even change into the little hand. But if I minimize and maximize the page, it will begin to work. I tried restarting me computer a few times, and I couldn't click the items on my desktop, even though the mouse moved around find. A few moments later, I was able to click my icons, but I couldn't click my start tab. My start tab didn't even have a change in tint to notify that it was clickable, it was just there.

Sometimes when I want to go to a different site and try to highlight my current URL so I can input a new one, it won't work. And again, the icon won't change from the arrow.

Any idea what the problem is? It seems more like a computer problem than a mouse problem since if it were the mouse, I would believe it would just not work or something. The fact that the computer doesn't even seem to recognize a link as clickable is what confuses me.

EDIT: I use Windows XP.

Browser?

Mozilla FireFox. Though it does not matter, as "sometimes" I can't click on an icon in my desktop or the start button. However, using my keyboard to access any of these works a-ok.

You too? Same thing just started happening to me. I just so happened to be browsing at random and saw this is the recent threads thing. I just rebooted my comp and it fixed it, but I have no idea what happened.

How is your mouse connected to the PC?

It's wireless, though I unplugged and replugged it several times.

Can you try a plain vanilla PS/2 mouse and see if the problem occurs?
